whenever someone criticizes Russia you start leaping out against everyone else.

the point wasnt what happens in the US, the Wikipedia article about Germany is only valid if you look at 1990 to present anyways and we were speaking about Pussy Riot and what would happen if they did the same over here - the church thing and their "sex thing".

And i told you that those 2 things never would end up in jail for anyone involved in germany. everything else is completely irrelevant in this specific case.

I dont see any danger personally in the Pussy Riot video - actually the "music" is horrible and a much bigger threat to my ears than the lyrics

Why every time when you are starting to criticize Russia (I guess you haven't even been there) and going to compare it with other countries like Germany (note the quote from your own post above), you are getting so nervous when I say "Ok, let's compare Russia with Germany". What's wrong with that?

Man, there is no "democracy" or "free speech". Both are fairy tales for naive people. Some countries are more fucked up with this, other with that. They all are not ideal. The world is not black and white. There is a countless number of shades of gray. Thus it's very stupid to believe into the one-sided news you are reading/watching. The Pussy Riot's story has at least two "truths" and you know only one of them (you can't read the Russian sources, right?) That's not enough for a normal discussion.

Just want to repeat that I told here many times already. I'm not a fan of Putin who has one foot in the other world. And I also don't think that a prison time is a just punishment for the girls. I believe a fine or 15 days in jail would be more than enough for them.

However there is a law which can't be discussed. The Pussy Riot performers know they are giving a formal reason to get them imprisoned and they did it consciously. You can't be a revolutionist w/o some kind of a sacrifice. So they got exactly that they were after for.

You saw their song on Red Square: "Putin has pissed himself". It was a political performance against Putin personally, but nobody was punished for that. Why? Because there was no formal reason. The similar performance in church (I'm not a religious man and I don't support the religion of any kind) was openly breaking the law.
