agree... absolutely bullshit to show 5 minute-promos... that`s not a promo... that`s euhhh... a the shorter version of the entire movie... Skyfall`s 2012 trailer is 2:34 and no shot is longer then 3 seconds... that`s a trailer!

Some of the best converting tube clips I've used are 8 minutes.

Usual movie is around 15-20 mins. Introdution takes ~5mins, and 5mins for some blowjob game. Finally there is 5-10mins of the main action. Showing 5-8mins clip your show most yummy stuff of your movie. I don`t see this way is right.
Clip is an advertising trailer not just a free porn.

I have shared with an affiliate(tube networker) full lenth movies to prepare 5min custom clips. There were low sales and low traffic amount from him. After some time we changed all clips to 2mins - now I see more sales and more traffic from him. Also more clicks on join page.
So, for me 2min clips is a right way.

Nobody says you have to show your most yummy stuff. Tube surfers fast forward. A lot. They think shorter clips aren't going to show much but the longer ones will. That's where you trick them with a long intro, a good tease and then stop it before it gets too good with a call to action at the end.

To each their own but people can't make a blanket statement about five minutes being too long.

It's just 50% of what I do all day and manage an entire full-time team that submits to tubes... so I wouldn't call myself a pro by any means. I don't track stats and tweak things because it's a charity service.
