Casey Anthony detectives overlooked Google search

Talk about an oversight ?..

"The Florida sheriff's office that investigated the disappearance of Casey Anthony's 2-year-old daughter overlooked evidence that someone in their home did a Google search for "fool-proof" suffocation methods on the day the girl was last seen alive."

it could be good to have a time stamp on that search.
was it done before the girl was reported missing or after?
btw a girl i was shooting who was from florida claimed she was bff with casey.
she was pretty sure the deed was done by casey.

I always thought the investigations are a bit more sophisticated, like for example getting search queries straight from google... looking at IE's history seems a bit amateur...

My views on the matter? We are getting second hand information from a sheriff that said something was missed. We don't know what was done, but the fact of the matter remains that Anthony was found not guilty; the case is closed. Double Jeopardy.

Now, if it turns out it is all true, I guess they could do a Federal civil rights case against her.

My view is that while she will ultimately walk, things like this need to come out because that investigation and prosecution was all kinds of botched. The people that were so passionate about Caylee during the trial need to get loud again and hold some people accountable or we'll continue getting sloppy police work.

How they forgot to search ALL browsers is such an amateur mistake. How does that even happen?

I've always thought she was guilty. The whole case was a joke from the beginning.

shouldn't this be a privacy issue google should never be revealing or even keeping available no matter the circumstances?

I can see how they missed this. Imagine how much data they would have to sort through. Hell, I go through my kid's computer every week and it's an hour long ordeal.

I'm sure there are millions of people searching each year on Google "get away with drunk driving" or "steal from my job without getting caught" but we don't go and arrest those people.

they keep search history on everyone for sure (for their own needs)... so I would assume investigators would just need a court order and google would hand it over to them...
but yea, I agree they shouldn't be keeping that information...
