kickstarter: FPS Russia: The Game

This is a friend of mine living in China where electronics is produced, he raised $157k:

If you see the promo video.. he made it himself, taking movie of himself with his stuff, and edited with plain apple mac... no mega offices with 100 bathrooms needed.

Next he said he will try another project involving a 3d printer, he said is hot topic and lots of these are produced in China where he is. Last time he visited me he gifted lots of chinese stuff such as an android usb pen you attach to TV and can go browse my cam site and see on 50" using wifi, worked faster than my nexus s and cost him only $25 including hdmi cable ($1 is price of hdmi cable in china).

Given the mad views FPS gets, it's not surprising.

I thought kickstarter.com was only for americans? How did he get around their funding rules? Thanks for any info....

Yes, this guy is an italian citizen and he live and does business in China
Actually more than Kickstarter rules, the matter it is you should have an Amazon US account, since Amazon handles the payments.
So any foreigner who owns an US company able to pass compliance of Amazon, may use Kickstarter; my friend said he got lots docs to submit, and it may have helped that he own or rented an home in USA so he could sent some US bills with his name or something like it.
I asked him if he think Chinese people could bypass him and go directly in Kickstarter, he said in theory is possible, just most of them lack English language, US connections and they present themselves in a so foreigner way that no one can mistak them as an USA person or company.
In other words, any foreigner guy or company who is american look alike and got US company and maybe an US bill for flat they rented there, somewhat can use kickstarter.

Someone noticed that Kickstarter does NOT support adult themed projects (some toy project was banned for ex.)... But, the kickstarter system it is much same of cam group shows, as setup in many sites.

In kickstarter a guy say: I need total $X to make possible that I will start to sell this product for $Y... hey guys I have made NOTHING yet... is just an idea... so guys all together pls buy enough $Y's, so the total reaches $X, then I will START to produce something... and promise I will then send you the $Y's products you pre-paid for.

So a cam girl (or even a boy+girl together) write in room: guys, all together tip me total $50, Even $1 each, and I will "play with 2 toys at same time" or "do sex with my bf", just for who paid at least the $1 ticket price (others will NOT see). I am there sitting clothed, bored and done NOTHING yet, except housekeeping and watching TV while wait you to tip... you believe I will really do such an entertaining show if paid, right?

So cam sites (with proper group funding systems) are the "kickstarter" of adult.
I am quite sure that Vivid, Manwin, Hustler could setup such Kickstarter system for even bigger productions, i.e. movie, such as: "will be a movie with stars: X, Y, Z, with plot based on..." and raise $thousands. Anyone tried that? Could be the future of porn, seriously, also you don't care of piracy as you got the money BEFORE to do the content... so can even put in torrents on release date, you already made income on that date.

I seen in streamate "gold show" mode being raised $500 easily, by models in top of first page in goot time of day; actually myfreecams got a different group show system which is quite wrong for this (it is per minute, and can last just few seconds, not a total $$ to raise before to start doing anything), they more rely on tips - the girl ask tips, but getting quite big ones. The freecamstars group it is same as streamate, and so on.

Just as reference, we've implemented a group show in kickstarter way on tubecamgirl recently, and it is going well, it's raised $10 - $50's often, which is enough for most our girls (these days, even a single dollar it is valuable).
