So I am desperately trying to download the new DareDevil soundtrack - it sounded pretty cool.
Now guess what. No, the songs aren't looping (like many do) BUT about every 20 seconds there is a toot - toot - toooooot signal blended in, as if you reached an unconnected phone line. Fuckers. Guess I'll hafta wait until the CD is out and people make some good rips. ![]() |

This is the funniest thing to me. I have a vested interest in this topic but the major labels don't get it. If Kazaa or any other popular file sharing service goes down we will see so many chinese full album download sites pop up no one could possibly keep up! They will make money for the owners while they are alive too! A nice bit! They'll probably sell traffic to Choker.

The music industry is seeding all the P2P services with fucked up MP3's. I heard this recently from someone inside the music biz.

I don't say much but this is something I deal with every day. I am a musician, songwriter and engineer. I have songs published, recorded and on the air. I don't like the "theft " part of file sharing at all ..........BUT!!!! CD sales go up with the popularity of file sharing. File sharing is the single best way for independant artists to get heard. Most bands don't make much from the sale of the CD anyway. Usually the record company makes sure the band owes THEM money. It is a tool to get people out to the gigs when they tour. Record companies make money on CDs. Musicians make money on the road or in the studio. Songwriters / Publishers make money on airplay. If I hear an mp3 I like.....I buy the CD. I think a lot of people do. No matter what you do to an MP3 it is still only 1/10th of the digital information that the origional wave had.

Exactly. File trading only marginally hurts record labels. Artists should love it. They make shit off of actual album sales. They will make tons more money in shows and from broadcast publishing when radio stations play the song 2X as much because the song that has been traded all over the net becomes a hit in most markets.
File trading is not bad, it just needs to be utilized and monetized a bit better.

It definitely helps smaller artists who have a hard time being heard. I've bought quite a few albums after downloading some good mp3's. I've been turned on to countless new bands that way.
