Mechanical Bunny Media is pleased to announce the release version 5.0.0 of our popular tube script. This is a major script update that introduces many new features and work-flow improvements over the previous 4.x releases. Below is a truncated list of the more notable changes to the CMS:
Notable 5.0.0 Changes:
- Complete rewrite of the front end, providing better separation of code and template as well as performance improvements.
- Changed flash player to FlowPlayer 3.2.16 to help provide better support for the most common adult ad networks.
- New default front end templates.
- New module system for admin area.
- Improved community features.
- User email notifications.
- Live template switching on front end. Can be used to do multi-lingual templates or alternative landing pages for different traffic sources.
- Numerous changes and bug-fixes in admin area to streamline and improve workflow.
- Bulk YouTube importer. Can be used to setup themed mainstream tube sites in minutes (eg. funny videos, pet videos, fight videos etc).
- New uploader with CAPTCHA for user video & photo uploads.
- Added CSV Import for photo galleries/fhgs/.
- Improved Photo Gallery support.
- New rating system.
- Added filters for photos/videos/both on all pages of front end.
- Added real "videos being watched" function.
- Filter options for approval queue.

Due to various reasons - specifically to stem redistribution of the script, and the introduction of flowplayer into the system - we have made the decision to implement a licensing system on the script and by extension have been forced to encode a few of the files using IonCube. The script is still an unlimited domain license and is un-encoded with the exception of these files, and as we know that customizability and open-source is important to our customers, we've been careful when implementing this and have done everything we can to limit the impact on the customizability of the script. This file contains some core functions of the script, which are never (or if ever, rarely) modified by us or third party programmers. To streamline the process of obtaining license keys, we have created a customer area on our website where you can request and view license keys and download script updates. Please contact us via ICQ (59416956), Skype (mechbunnymedia), the contact form on our website (http://www.mechbunny.com/contact.php), or our support ticket system if you have any questions or concerns about this change and we will be happy to further discuss the reasoning behind the decision. I don't like that we've had to do this and am a big fan of open source, but it's something that had to be done.
As always, the new version of the script is available free of charge to our existing customers. If you would like us to perform this update on your site(s) for you, we are available to do so for a labour fee. This labour cost will be determined on a case-by-case basis, dependant on the number of sites to update and any custom features that may have been implemented that will need to be ported over to the 5.0 codebase.
