Well my hosting company gave me like 100.000.000 new IP6 addresses so guessing on how easy I got them I would say they are worthless at the moment...

Oh that sounds fantastic. (not)
Seems that it's better to stay away from upgrading to IP6.

EVERYONE gets that many ips. Doesn't mean it's not worth shit, it just means that there is literally a SHIT TON of ipv6 space.

ipv4 is quickly running out. The smart move is to have your websites run on both, so when ipv4 is gone you're ahead of the game.

IPV6 = a paradise for abusers - imagine that every user can have thousands of IP addresses. Web servers, ftp servers, ssh servers and other software are not yet ready for this.

That depends, the user / organization might get:
- only one IPv6 address (/128 prefix)
- 1.84 x 10^19 of IP addresses (/64 prefix) this is actually recommended by rfc6177
- /56 prefix, which is more that you can imagine
- /48 prefix, which is even more than that...

Unless you know what kind of prefix user has there's no way to tell if a IPV6 address belongs to this user.

TBH. ipv6.. most operating systems do a lookup for AAAA records first which is IPv6, IPv6 is starting to become the preferred/route for most operating systems in todays age.

we provision servers with both ipv4 and 6, even if people are unaware of it we do it anyway.
