Are you kidding me? Compare Lana to Celine??? haha Celine's audience is soccer moms and grandmas and geriatrics - Lana is a phenomenon with 20 something indies and scenesters... shes a performance artist as much a singer. She has grit and shes dirty and cool and funky, her approach is self deprecating and darkly humorous. Celine Dion? Shes just a lounge act with an over inflated ego and her pipes are no better than your average American Idol contestant - shes a fading joke...Lana is a rising superstar.

Lana Del Ray is not a phenomenon. I'd be surprised if her debut album sold 1 million copies. It was such a stinker that they rereleased it hoping to snag a few more sales.

She is such a phenom that people were recently camping overnight just to get into a premiere of her latest music video. heh, the only reason she even got a contract is because of her dads connections. i kinda doubt she'll have staying power. an interesting voice but little range.
