Anyone else voting third party in the US Presidential election?

Frankly I'm tired of the stranglehold that Republicans and Democrats have on politics in this country. I feel if you vote Republican you are supporting the anti-intellectual, anti-science, religious kook, racist, homophobic, misogynistic, not to mention anti-pornography agenda that so many of them have.

And then there's the plain fact that leading Republican and Democrat candidates alike are so far in the pockets of the military-industrial complex, big corporations and bankers that they aren't even trying to hide the fact anymore. It's a perverse corruption of our democracy. If either one gets elected we aren't looking at a positive change to fix the real problems and issues the U.S. faces.

After looking over the Libertarian Party platform and former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson that I have to say I agree with 95% of what they have to say. I bet a lot of Republican and Democrat voters would agree too if they weren't afraid on "wasting" their vote on a third party candidate.

As I live in a state that is going Republican no matter if every Democrat votes, I am casting my vote for Gary Johnson because I want to see a viable third party and break this stalemated two party paradigm we are stuck with.

If your state is Red or Blue and your vote won't change the outcome, consider voting for the Libertarians so we can break this two party stalemate. If Libertarians get 5% of the vote, they will automatically be on the ballots next election I have been told.

Johnson said the retirement age needs to be raised perhaps to 70 or 72

How is that going to work out for a construction worker?

Medicare, there needs to be some sort of means testing

This is the first step toward ending the program.

Everything he calls for would be a disaster for poor people. But who gives a fuck right they are poor fuckem.

Have not voted since I moved abroad, but if I had to choose one this time around it would be Gary Johnson. He's not perfect, but if I had to choose, he is the better of the group.

There are a lot of people who end up on disability before retirement age when they work hard labor jobs.

My uncle worked in construction from the time he was in his mid 20's until about five years ago. He is now 66 and just hit retirement age, but about five years ago his knees were so destroyed from the work he had to have a laser surgery on one and a knee replacement surgery on the other.

He wasn't able to work so he ended up on disability for a few years before he reached retirement age.

Then you shouldn't vote for Johnson. I did and am very happy to have done so.
Not everybody ends up decrepit and unable to work.

Matter of fact, people are living much, much longer and healthier lives. My grandfather worked until he had a bad series of strokes when he was 80 years old. He still lived to be 90.

I don't have any plans on retiring at 65. Why would I?

Hell, Mick Jagger is 68 years old. I don't see him in a wheelchair or an old folks home.

You need to realize that Social Security is going broke. People are living a lot longer. If something isn't done, then there won't be any money for anybody at any age.

I'm 51 years old. I have NO problem with moving my Social Security back to age 70 or 72.
I like to work, and the day I retire will probably be the first step toward my death.

It does count. 5% is all he needs to pull to get a REAL shot in the next election (the debates, matching fed funds, full ballot access)
