Because I do primarily custom work for clients I don't have much to show people.

Years ago I did a software package which had a pretty good acceptance but I found supporting every person who wanted something "extra" to be very tedious and I eventually lost interest. Since it was a free package there was no harm and no foul.

For the past 5 years though, I have been working on a package in the mainstream sector. We have been through rigorous beta and live testing and today I am ready to show it to the world, or at least the folks here at GFY. I think this one is worth millions and across 5 years time I haven't lost interest in it for a second, it is my passion, my Opus if you will.

Ok, I just heard back from Deepali and he said "sir, I speak to Craigslist contact Rhaja and he say that a person call Craigslist and report the FlagHag 5000. Sir, he say that they report it as a "spammer tool". I tell Rhaja it is not spammer tool but marketing tool. Rhaja, he say ok and he say no worry you about the TOS. Sir, you ok sir"

So, we did not get detected, we were not blocked for any reason except that someone is a whiny baby who feels it is their duty to report stuff that they do not understand as somehow being a "spammer" tool.

I don't know anyone who could write software too get past whiny babies on the internet.

So, we stand on our 100% never detected, never blocked reputation

I just want to make sure I understand how this works.

I put an ad up on CL in the category of my choice then I can use your software to flag all the other ads in that category so they get deleted and I now I have the category to myself correct?

So how exactly is this no spamming? Sure, you aren't spamming your ad, but you are artificially manipulating the other's so that your's is in the first place. That seems pretty shady.

Actually, no I'm not. Basically, what he is doing is reporting all the other posts in a category as being spam/bad so he can get the top spot. He does this regardless of whether they are legit posts or not. It is blackhat at best, but still shady.

To use your billboard analogy, it would be like him taking out a billboard along the highway and then going along and pasting big signs on all the other billboards saying bad things about those companies/products to discourage people from using them.

Am I not understanding how your software works?

You set it to flag all the other posts in a category, thus reporting them as bad/spam so you get them moved down and you stay at the top. How is that different?

Well, IF my program actually did something then maybe it would work like that.

But, the program is simply reading in a cl rss feed then looping through it and putting messages up on the screen saying it is deleting stuff once it goes through the one rss page it then redirects to a fake cl TOS violation page that for some reason seems to scare the beejeesus out of folks.

The program was written to create the illusion that it is doing in order to pull in rubes and have fun with them.

I guess it's a real good thing that nobody thought it was real because some people get real pissed off when they feel that they have been made to look foolish, ya know?

Only problem is, the "joke" is the "software". The "joke" only works if people try it. And partly through to disinterest and partly due to the hapless way you wrote your posts, it seems like almost nobody tried it.

So basically the "joke" was: you took the time to start three different threads in two different forums claiming you wrote a shady program, and people criticized what you said you were selling. I'm not sure why that makes anyone look foolish but you. Nobody is 'pissed off' at anything other than what you said you were doing.
