              I have same / similar monitor setup to you jay and there is no chance I could work with vegas like that.

              I usually have big preview of the vid on the right and edit on the left, can't handle having the time line broken up by the monitors.

                                                      The other monitor comes up when you select a clip in this image I have a transition selected so it pulls up controls for the transition.
