I disagree about all sites being the same, but totally agree with everything else. Especially using a recurring sponsor, good exclusive content sites will make you more money.

I don't even really keep track of traffic anymore, just ROI, factoring in expenses + time. Then I figure out what's making me the biggest profit, and do more of that.

:glugglug

When I said the sites were the same, I just mean typical "large" programs, such as comparing ARS and Topbucks... to me it all looks pretty standard. High graphical tours with a join button at the bottom.

Honestly, the best way for a regular webmaster who doesn't have deep pockets to make money is to find a revshare program who uses processor stats, with exclusive reality site based, or even quality movie content. E.g. - Nastydollar or OxCash sites but with processor stats and a lot of free, exclusive, "not run of the mill" shit, which is the same thing as you stated above, I think.. :) Revshare is better, just not quick casino money, or whatever.. heh. but after 3 months of consistently getting sign ups to an exclusive type revshare program, you will be doing prety well... just don't expect it all at once.

For instance, send your traffic to a good movie site, with exclusive stuff that you can actually use w/o paying them..

But, yeah.. good revshare with processor stats is the way to go.

Cheers

I saw 1 : 30 a few weeks ago!
It was an AWESOME affiliate of us.

Conversion depends mostly on the quality of the traffic you send.

If you're ratios are bad? Try Advertising on thehun, your average conversion rate will improve BIG TIME :thumbsup

My affiliates are converting as follows:

Free memberships 1:10 to 1:50.

Paid 1:40 to 1:600.

Since we're a personals site, the conversions vary a lot depending on what kind of site the affiliate has, how their promoting, etc.

1:30 to 1:200 on a pay per signup sponsor.

Conversion rate depends on so many factors including price of site, that it is just about meaningless imho.

Of course more people will sign up to $25 site than a $39.99 site, so conversion rate will be higher, but either may be more profitable to promote.

The only statistic that I focus on is $ earned per banner click which is calculated and ranked automatically by Stats Remote (if you wanna see my stats then check sig).

Having said that, my average conversion ratio on uniques is 1:1381, and my best converting normal paysite is currentlyScores Cash at 1:108.

Doing 1:70 is no big deal just mention the membership rates on your gallery page :)
