Lets say I am interested in internet marketing. When I accidentally see somebody tweet about it and I see 10 followers I assume its not even worth checking out what he tweets. When I find someone with 5000 followers I think this dude has something to say (because so many people want to follow him) and I check out his tweets and maybe follow him. Of course that dude may have been tweeting even better tweets but since he did not have many followers many people left his page even without reading.. I mean these services that provide followers are there for a reason and people buy them for a reason (not that they expect direct sales from those bot followers, well except some stupid people who might expect that). Its somehow similar to building a forum - at first you trade/buy posts to your forum so that it would look somehow busy and then you grow it from there. |
