Romney and the popular vote myths

Several GFYers are saying they believe Romney will win the popular vote, but lose the electoral.

Bump this thread after the election and laugh at them, or at me.

I would've added that one, except I could barely find any Republicans who believe it themselves.

Sorry I didn't add more options to the poll, it's too late for me to edit it now. You could at least go with the Romney winning the popular vote option, and we'll know you meant that you think Romney would win both popular vote + electoral vote.

I think Obama will end up winning both. I think the popular vote will end up being pretty close. The electoral college could be very close as well, but there is a chance that Obama ends up winning the majority of the battleground states and it isn't that close.

Go figure, there sure were a lot of people in another thread claiming Romney would win the popular vote. This one however has his chances at only 6%.

That's ok. I'll link to your other posts, where you think Romney will win the popular vote.

Wow, a board made up primarily of Democrats and people that can't even vote in our elections think Obama will win? Who would have thunk it?

Rasmussen Presidential Polls 2012: Mitt Romney now leads over President Obama by 4%, tied at Wisconsin

"Dough-Bama" takes slight lead in 2012 Presidential Donut Poll

Donkey-shaped pastry ekes out 3-point margin over the "Mitt Yum-ney" in first results of LaMar's Donuts survey

Presidential polls conducted by Gallup daily tracking poll showed that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has extended his lead over US President Barack Obama.

With less than three weeks before the 2012 US Presidential elections, Romney now leads Obama, 52 percent to 45 percent

The latest in presidential polls shows President Obama losing a big chunk of the support he saw in the 2008 election in California and New Jersey.

Surveys of the Buckeye State have been all over the board in recent weeks as the election draws near. While most show President Obama with the lead, the size of it depends on whether the pollster was using human beings or robots to do the interviewing.

National polls: Mitt Romney has held a slight but persistent lead in national polling since the first debate. As of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, he?s ahead by 0.7 percent in the Real Clear Politics average of polls, and by 0.2 percent in the Pollster.com tracker.

As explained, this poll although poorly implemented, was primarily to record who those people were that believed the polls are accurate and that Romney will win the popular vote.

Who do you think is going to win the popular vote, baddog?

Your thread title should have said Obama voters only.

Don't whine about it. Give your prediction and move on. Good grief, you've posted in here three times already saying the same thing.

To be honest, I have not formed an opinion; I think it is going to be tight. I am relatively confident I will not have enough votes to even get a mention.

The weather may play a role in this, especially the popular vote. That storm may smash into the upper and mid east coat near election day and cause serious weather issues that could cause a lot of people to stay home and not vote. This doesn't mean that Romney is suddenly going to win New York, but it could mean that a good number of northeast liberals stay home which ends up costing Obama the popular vote.

I think it is apparent that Obama has lost any advantage he had last time. Even if the polls show that Romney will get 0% of the black vote is not a real issue as I doubt there will be the voter turnout there was the last time.

If Obama supporters want him to win, they better get out and vote because you know Romney's supporters will be for sure.
