Back in Romney's suggested year we had a cavalry of about 10,000 to 12,000 men. Today that division only has a small number of horses. If you ever watched any Vietnam movies you would understand what happened to our cavalry. They moved into helicopters. In the movie We Were Soldiers Mel Gibson's character gives the men in his unit a speech about it. The speech was taken from the memory of those who were there.

Called the air cav now...

WHAT???

You are trolling me right? But just in case you don't remember all the things Obama lied about:
Here are the biggest ones of course:
1. Fix the economy in 3 years or it will be a "one term proposition"
2. Meet with the leaders of foreign countries that are our enemies (one of the reasons I voted for him....I really thought that made good sense after decades of failed foreign policy by the U.S.)
3. If he could just pass his stimulus plan for a trillion dollars we would have 5.4% unemployment (that trillion is gone)

And here are just a few of a couple of hundred broken promises (what dems call "Lies" when a Republican does it)
Expand the child and dependent care credit
Create a foreclosure prevention fund for homeowners
Provide option for a pre-filled-out tax form
Create a mortgage interest tax credit for non-itemizers
Create a retirement savings tax credit for low incomes
Create a $60 billion bank to fund roads and bridges
Allow imported prescription drugs
Prevent drug companies from blocking generic drugs
Allow Medicare to negotiate for cheaper drug prices
Double federal funding for cancer research
Close the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center
Develop an alternative to President Bush's Military Commissions Act on handling detainees
Seek independent watchdog agency to investigate congressional ethics violations
Allow five days of public comment before signing bills
Tougher rules against revolving door for lobbyists and former officials
Allow bankruptcy judges to modify terms of a home mortgage
Reduce earmarks to 1994 levels
Negotiate health care reform in public sessions televised on C-SPAN
Cut the cost of a typical family's health insurance premium by up to $2,500 a year
Introduce a comprehensive immigration bill in the first year

Any moron can cut and paste from a website. I wanted a discussion, not you to cut and paste yet more nonsense from some silly website with half truths.

So he failed to create a foreclosure prevention fund for homeowners? Really? This is the reason I am still in my home: http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov. When BOA told me about it, they called it "Obama's making home afford plan". LOL.

Rochard 10-24-2012 05:00 PM

So you copied your shit from here:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...romise-broken/

Which also says:

And soon after his election, Obama outdid the promise of $10 billion, creating a foreclosure prevention fund that totaled $75 billion, paid for with funds from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and the government sponsored mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Officials said the fund could help 9 million homeowners. We gave Obama a Promise Kept.

I'm not a moron. And those aren't "half truths"

They are promises that Obama made and never kept. There are 5 more pages of them.

As for the discussion...I thought we were having one. Then you said you were unaware that Obama had lied about anything. To make certain I didn't fuck it up, I went straight to google and looked it up to show you.

Then you called me a "moron".
Nice. Last time I had a discussion with someone in real life they didn't call me a "moron" for having the simple intelligence to look stuff up on google. to settle a dispute.

So I was stoned off my ass and woke up? Who won????

So you pull up a heavily slanted site and cut and paste some half truths? I went down the list, haven't heard of half of them, until that one - which is not true at all. He promised x and delivered. You and your website called it a lie, yet it's a program he created and I used.

Let's see. Did he fail? Or was it shot down by Republicans?

Seems they tried to pass such a law with HR 4583.

According to an interview on December 7th, 2010, Obama said:
Quote:

And, as I said, there are a whole bunch of things that they are giving up. I mean, the truth of the matter is, from the Republican perspective, the Earned Income Tax Credit, the college tuition tax credit, the Child Tax Credit -- all those things that are so important for so many families across the country -- those are things they really opposed.
Surprise.

Two bills have been introduced to make this happen. First one was shot down. Second one, by Rep. Jim Cooper, in April 2011, seems stalled. Surprise.

However, the bill is being blocked by "accounting, advisory, and software firms". Surprise again.

I googled up broken campaign promise of Obama.

If you say it's a slanted site, that's up to you to decide.

If you think everything is great and Obama hasn't lied about anything then I guess everybody should be happy right now instead of the way it is.

It's not "me and my website" Just use google. Find out for yourself and stop attacking me. I'm not your enemy. And I'm not running for President. Obama is a failure in my eyes. And in my doctor's eyes, in the guys I know who own a few bars in town here in Vegas, and my dad thinks so too. I haven't yet met a guy in person (not on a message board) who owns a business who thinks Obama is a success and isn't a liar.

Don't kill the messenger. If Obama was so great, he would be running on his record and winning this election by a landslide.

I think he's a complete failure, and I think that the Republican party is lost to religious nutcases and is a detriment to the country as well with their stands on abortion and trying to control what people can and can't see, do, read, and think.

That's why I'm voting for Johnson.

Look, I enjoy discussing this. And I've learned a few things I didn't know before by googling up subjects. Some things fit with what I already thought I knew, and some things did not.

One thing is for certain in my mind. Obama failed. He made a ton of promises and said whatever he thought people wanted to hear to get elected. Then he failed.
Now Romney is doing the same thing.

Dude, seriously, stop using that as a dodge of what happened to Romney on the question.

It's dumb since we have far less infantry troops all around and therefore even if every
infantry man had a bayonet it would still be Millions short of WWII.

Thanks for that URL Tony. I'm going to watch that later.

It's amazing that the press didn't report it to any extent that I even knew it was happening. :(
