Wow really, October at Daytona is the last race of the year for AMA/CCS racing, March is the first round.
I have been going since 1979, no Harley's for so many years, no drunk ass losers on bikes that they can't even ride.
March has always been the mad house that is bike week, no issues with that but October was always for the racers, it was nice and quite easy to get around and get a room, not any more.
Oh well ride a mile and push a while I guess...Comment

Yea March is the first round, but to all the racers they love the October round as the rest of the circus is not there.
Also a lot of first time racers go in March so it gets a bit crazy on the track, in October it goes by points so it's only the better racers who show up.Comment

I remember in 87 standing by Boot Hill checking out a customized Sportster with my friend that rode out with me. You have to understand that it was raining when we left LA and we hit rain every fucking day on the way out and it rained off an on the whole week in Daytona.
The owner of the bike came out and informed us that he had trailered his bike the entire 150 miles from St Pete and that he had never washed his bike with water. He then proceeded to push the bike around the corner to his waiting trailer. We over that one.
I can't imagine how bad it must be now; Daytona is crowded enough without a bunch of trailers and RV's.Comment
