Don't worry, it's how most people 'think'. For some reason some of them, as on this forum, delude themselves that believing whatever the media/Government tells them (without question) makes them smarter than "conspiracy nuts" who actually spend time looking at the evidence.

It's only the more palatable aspects of conspircacy theory that "go mainstream".

We're seeing this right now in the UK with the Jimmy Savile scandal. They've been banging on about Savile for years on the David Icke forums. But while the public have no problem believing that Savile was a child abuser and possibly a high ranking mason, they'll stop short of declaring him an alien shapeshifter.

Seems from what I've read about Savile that he got away with it because he knew too many people in high places who were doing the same thing.

He even openly admitted in his autobiography 40 years ago that he got away with it because otherwise he'd take police officers with him.

Now he's in no position to name other people involved, everyone is free to talk about what he did. The public probably just thinks it was him, and a handful of other celebrity sickos, ignoring the police, judges and politicians involved.

It's alleged that Savile supplied boys from a care home to Edward Heath (former PM) to abuse on his yacht. Those boys subsequently disappeared. Yet the media, and by extension the public, are not demanding an investigation into Heath's activities, because that would blow the lid off the whole system.

It isn't any kind of a conspiracy, and I'm sure the kids he abused would probably agree. The point is that it's an example of a conspiracy theory going mainstream, but without all the alien shit attached to it.

It is huge news in the UK. And not everyone who reads the David Icke forums follows David Icke. Their thread on Jimmy Savile has had over 280,000 views, many of whom have been referred by newspapers, sports forums etc.

I don't believe in illuminati, because to me it just obscures perception of the truth. But there probably was an occult/ritualistic element to the abuse, simply because occult practices are empowering to the practicioner.

David Icke worked at the BBC at a time when Savile's activities were known to BBC staff, but largely hidden from the public.

Did he come out about it at that time, and no one believed him? Or did David Icke keep it quiet until it was mainstream too?

Icke has spoken about it for many years, but he lacks credibility in the UK because the media portrays him as a conspiracy nut.

Was Icke unique in that he was the only one speaking about it?

Do you think if Icke gets it right about something like this, that it lends more credibility to his numerous other beliefs?

I think it would be hard for Icke to get it wrong about this. He was speaking about it, but many other figures in the media also knew it to be true.

For his other beliefs, I think that many of them are largely illustrative and allegorical. It isn't a matter of "getting it right", it's more a matter of getting people to think more and question more. But the trouble is that Icke comes across like he's got too much noise going on in his head. I've known people like him, and they never had any peace of mind.
