FYI for anyone who uses namecheap (we used to, and used to recommend them to everyone who asked us)...
When some anonymous nobody files a false complaint against one of your domains, you'd better hope you get the email from them because they only send it once.
One of our domains was suspended on a Sunday morning at 5am due to an easily proven false "complaint". We were completely unaware that there was even a problem until the domain was taken offline.
As it turns out, they only send you 1 single email warning you of a complaint, and if it gets lost in the web, you're fucked. Yet they make sure to send 10+ emails for every single domain that is going to expire soon. Funny that.
And then to top it off, when we provide proof that the claim is false, not only do they refuse to give us the information of the clown who filed the complaint so we can take legal action, they also try to say that they cannot verify that our documents are valid because the domain was offline... well no shit. They were the ones who shut it down on a Sunday morning.
And just so it's known, we've used them since 2009 without issue, without a single complaint, and have always spoken highly of them. But at the end of the day, they cost us upwards of $3k for the downtime from that domain but they refuse to even acknowledge any wrongdoing on their part. They did however have the gull to offer us a discount after we started moving our domains.
There you have it.. make of it what you will.
