Who here remembers the horse and buggy?
and it'd take several days to get to the nearest city to load up the buggy with goods to trade and sell back home, yeah... good times, good times.

I had to walk to school every day
5 miles there, 7 miles back In the snow That was up to my chest.....in August And my sack lunch was gravel...and I was grateful for that damned gravel! GET OFFA M' FUCKING LAWN! |

In all seriousness when I was a child our milk in Melbourne was delivered by a milkman from the local dairy who used a horse and milk cart. I used to like to wake up at 5am to catch a glimpse of the milk bottle laden horse and cart.
None of these things happen now, horses and carts aren't used for delivery and milk isn't delivered nor does it come in glass bottles anymore. I'm 45 by the way, so it really wasn't all that long ago. |
