Should America withdraw from the world?

If I was American or Bush in particular I'd be seriously pissed off with most of the world now.. all this fucking around over iraq is just a joke.. saddam needs to be dealt with not ass kissed like france and co want to do...

So, should the US just say 'GO FUCK YOURSELF' to the world and withdraw all its troops from every country, shut its borders and refuse to be the worlds police force ever again? Should the US basically isolate itself and leave other countries in the world to sink or swim on their own and have nothing to do with them under any circumstances?

Would the US then be able to strike back at any enemy that attacks america directly with zero UN involvement? Basically saying - you attack us, we crush you mercilesly without hesitation..

Or should the US form a new 'United Nations' with a very select group of countries such as UK, Spain, etc. ?

In a way that wouldnt be a bad thing. Without our help, all of europe and asia would eventually succumb to communism or some form of dictatorship. So it would basically be them on one side of the ocean, us on the other, and each with nukes to assure mutual destuction if one attacks.

Its an impossiblity for that to happen but an interesting thought.

We just need to start treating france and germany as non-allies, because thats what they are.

I think when it comes to making decisions on over throwing the goverments of countries it is best to have support from the majority of other goverments in the world. The United States can start a full scale strike on Iraq without UN approval if it wanted. But it is best to process it through the UN and avoid stepping on toes.

However if the US withdrew completely it wouldn't bother with overthrowing regimes anywhere coz its 'out there' and not their concern anymore.. only if iraq directly attacked the US would the US take action in the form of bombing them back into the stoneage (not far to go actually ;) ) but thats all they would do.. crush them and withdraw again, leaving the survivors to pick up the pieces any way they choose. It wouldn't take long for every regime in the world to get the message that messing with the US is a 'bad idea' so they wouldn't bother.. plenty of other countries in the world they can fuck with instead!

I think you will find in your history books a time when the US tried this and it was a failure. In today's global markets such a policy is impossible, well not impossible but if you wantr to see the US economy suffer even more then go ahead.

Does "Withdraw from the world" mean no more supporting Israel and selling them vast amounts of arms, pulling out the troops in Saudi, not buying Arab oil, Japanese cars, US cars made in Mexico, Grass and Cocaina from S. America, porn from Czech Republic

This is only an option on GFY, I don't think it will work anywhere else.

Europe is a very suceptable place and has been for a long time. The nazis took over most of europe with relative ease. I have a lot of respect for England, but they do not have the might to win a full scale war on their own.

You obviously are not doing so well at history or economics in school.

Europe is coming together as an enormous market and that reduces the possibility of war.

Stop being so arrogant, the US with all it's might, wealth and technology did not do too well in Korea and Vietnam.

And sold Eastern Europe down the river at Potsdam.

So much for saving Europe & Asia from the Communists.

I think we?ll have to continue to deal with the contention we receive in the world bodies. It?s important that we have dialog with the other nations of the world or we?ll just become a huge North Korea.

As much as I hate is when the French just sit there and complain about the way we do things without a solution of their own, the US going around doing what it wants without a counter balance is a much darker picture.

So you won in Vietnam and Korea. Roosevelt did not concede to Stalin that where his troops finished at the end of the war belonged to Russia. The European market is not happening and we are all about to invade each other?

Or is your definition of an intelligent man someone who agrees with you?

Talk shows where Ohio?

I think if more politicians were getting laid in their offices it would keep them a lot more occupied, out of our hair and allow us to make more money. It usually turns to shit when they start to get involved.

Not questioning your goverment is the arguement of all dictorships. It is that we can argue, disagree and disaprove of our goverments that makes us strong.

Your politicians stopped paying any attention to the founding fathers ages ago. I would have thought ashwank, patriot act etc etc etc was more than ample proof of that.

mrfiction, there is a difference between questioning government, and accepting every extreme left conspiracy theory ranting you come across on the net as truth.

It is impossible to have debates with your type because you are so far left on the spectrum and somehow have the twisted notion that anthing to the right is evil, while anything on the left is just and pure.

All politicians are about money and control. The different sides just do it differently.
-----------------------

"So you won in Vietnam and Korea."

Everything is not as simple as black and white. Those conflicts went sour due to politics. The politicians did not allow the troops to win.

Instead of bashing america, you should thank us for playing a big part in winning the cold war. As well as playing a big part in winning two world wars.

Mark, can you please add this option to your poll:

5. The US should leave Saddam alone, and re-allocate troops to attack France

I am sure you will find the poll results even more interesting. Learning from history, at the threat of war alone the French will capitulate and form a pro US government (and just in case, surrender some Jews to the Germans... you know... for Auld Lang Syne)

Among 18- to 24-year-old Americans given maps:

87 percent cannot find Iraq

83 percent cannot find Afghanistan

76 percent cannot find Saudi Arabia

70 percent cannot find New Jersey

49 percent cannot find New York

11 percent cannot find the United States

http://www.cnn.com/2002/EDUCATION/11...uiz/index.html

Americans are incredibly ignorant when it comes to world geography.

it would just be easier if the cartographers would put a comedy mustache on the country to make it easier.

btw, there is no option for 'wasn't really in the world in the first place'..yes a member of political bodies but America is still largely isolationist.

You got me laughing there... sorry...

1. I like your smart argument. You really convinced me there... Instead of say something to the point, like everybody else, you just went "moron". You are so compeling!

2. Did you hide under a big rock in the last few years? Sexplanets is the owner of many of the top TGPs, is the host for most of them, it has millions of uniques per day and its affiliate program sells hundreds of new accounts per day (my estimate); I am sure Mark shits in his pants...

3. Mark, did I kiss your ass enough? Can I get listed please????

I am just taking that quiz now, I got to that question and was floored that 11 percent of Americans in that age group can't find the United States on a map. Floored.

finished the survey..I got one wrong..it wasn't a country identification question.

The one thing you learn from that is that Sweden knows geography. Well done Sweden.

Can I get listed please????
hahahhaha,

hehe...

anyway, i was really pissed off with him, until i noticed its our friend Michael Nielsen from Denmark. you can't REALLY be pissed of with the Danes... i mean, this is what they their mothers breast feed them.

on world war II denmark surrendered to the germans (even worst than France!) in two hours, then the Dane government expelled all allied diplomats and imposed strict press censorship (most likely still in effect... talking about the bad allies...) and needless to mention co-signed the Anti-Comintern Pact with Hitler.

regretfully, much like the rest of europe, they were liberated in 45 by the allied forces. as usual, the life of american soldires in exchange for Dane freedom, so that they could teach us a lesson in hate today...

Denmark is one of the Neo Nazi centres of Europe today ("headquartered" in Greve just south of Copenhagen), where Nazi and racist political movements like Dansk Folkeparti, Fremskridtpartiet, Nationalpartiet Danmark, Dansk Centerparti make up the third biggest parliamentary block. Holocaust denial in Denmark is a favorite passtime, with groups like Danmarks Nationalsocialistiske Bevegelse enjoying from thousands of followers.

so as I said... When I noticed it's Mr. Nielsen from Denmark I wasn't pissed off any more. they are borne to hate. If at least he had a better argument than just "moron"...

you know, as a European, and in my view, the most pathetic thing about the left here, is the fact they only protest against Americans, or Jews. you can only drive millions of people to the streets if its about hate to America or Israel. you will never see anyone in any of these demonstrations showing a plaque saying "we are against saddam hussein who killed 1.5 million people"; "we are against muslim terror"; "we are against russian operations in Grozny"; "we are against chinese opression of Tibet"; "we are against the crazy north korea" etc. not only you will not be able to drive a single person out of his home - if you dare put up one of those banners in the "peace demonstrations" - you will most likely be linched! (by some Danes of course...)

and mr. Nielsen - i am black listing denmark!

Americans are incredibly ignorant when it comes to world geography.
Now why do I think this is so right as I read this thread? This is from those that actually knew what a map was.

Apparently the US did not lose in Vietnam and Korea, the poloticians lost. Who I assume were voted in by the Politburo?? The US voted in the politicians that lost that war, so I go back to my original stance.

I see he dropped the Potsdam conference thing cos he probably does not know what I'm talking about.

As for the US winning the cold war, I think you will find that the rest of the "Free World" helped or were the troops stationed in Idaho. As for winning the Second and First World Wars, I would like to bring your attention to the word "World" or is not the US part of it?

Also look at the US before the wars. It was the arms production and sales that made the US as it is today. Incidently look at where Hitler bought a lot of his steel for his Panzer tanks. Also I think you will find we helped your forces in the Pacific or was Burma a side show.

It is this kind of arrogance that gets Americans a bad reputation, one bad word said is remembered long after the good ones are forgotten.

The US cannot "Go it alone" in the modern world and I would have thought the people on this board would of had the sense to realise this. Look at where the computer you are working on came from, the TV, kitchen appliances, car/bikes you drive. Today the wealth of the Western World is based on trade.

I love the US and visit there a lot, but it is not heaven and far from perfect. Only the strong can withstand criticism.

Proud to be American.

.. The US is simply putting on the pressure to help get the job done. The job MUST get done regardless.

Without anticipation of war, there is no pressure, and therefore no power.

Im happy to see 'SOMETHING' happening as far as getting the asshole unarmed.

.. so if we have to go it without the UN and get this asshole out of there then we must.

There is no perfect solution to any problem. But there is always a solution.

worst than I tought... Maybe this is why they want to destroy Iraq: one less country to learn its location...
