My GF and I have Kaiser. I've wanted to switch, but she has been with them for a long time and her daughters love their doctors... I see my doctor like once every three years and they do all of that female stuff so I figured I would be the big man and suck it up...

It seems when ever I go in my doctor wants to talk me through shit and never prescribes anything. My kids and GF go into the doctor and walk out with prescriptions for everything. As an example I went in for back pain. She said it is normal for my age. Daughter goes in and they give her Vicodin and a muscle relaxer. This kind of shit happens every time I go to the doctor.

So I got a sty in my eye that wasn't going away. I go in. She says just chill out it will take care of itself. It develops into the other eye problem with a strange name. Where it is your tear ducts and not your eyelash follicles getting infected. My eyelid on one eye looks like I got clobbered by Mike Tyson. I go back in and she gives me an ointment to put into my eye. I tell her I can't put this shit in my eye and ask what happened to eye drops? She says those don't work as well... Ointment is the best idea because it stays in the eye where eye drops get washed out by the eyes natural tearing function. Now I feel like I just got out of a swimming pool with too much chlorine (although that isn't what causes the blurred vision when swimming... google it). Everything is fuzzy. Luckily I know how to touch type.

Then they ask me if I want a flu shot for the 15th time since I went in there that day. I finally say, sure. What the fuck, right? Says it can cause a mild flu in some people. Well, just my fucking luck. I am one of THOSE people! Now my nose is running. My eyes itch on top of the problem they already have. Been coughing instead of sleeping.

Find a new Doctor

Also go in for check-ups. Or you will almost never get meds when your in pain.

This is so fucking true! Happens to me all the time.

I never get the good drugs when I'm supposed to, and my other family members get all kinds of nice meds for little to nothing issues.

Doctors suck dick these daysl

change your doctor i have find one that works for you im sure i could go to the doctor and get any medicine i wanted they never ask too many questions anytime ive needed something they just give it to me

My mom used to have Kaiser. One day a friend of hers who also had it said, "Kaiser is great until you get sick."

Based on what people here are saying and my mom's experience (it took them several months just to approve her seeing a specialist then several more months for the care she needed) it looks like that might be true.
