if they can't work out a phone number, it's unlikely they will be able successfully close any deal with you...

I helped a buddy rent a house for him via Craigslist and used the image for his cell #. He never received any SPAM texts or calls. I'm sure NY is an entirely different beast than Tampa though....

or get a free Google Voice phone number, forward it to your phone, disable text messaging on the GV number and you can use that for your CL ads. When you're done with the ad, you can disable forwarding on the number.

I was half-kidding, but you are right, in some situations idiots are the best customers...however, on CL they just jerk you around and waste your time... in my limited CL experience I've found it's best to avoid them....

The way I deal with idiots even on CL, is to try to create mousetraps where they do not have to think. Basically just guide them through the mouse trap so easily a monkey can follow it. When you give idiots a chance to think (which they cannot because they are idiots) is when i find problems.

So many people are out there with their wallets ready to just give money away sometimes it boggles my mind.
