Would not use a Chromebook. Can you say everything you do is being tracked and sent to Google Farms.

A Chromebook really isn't a laptop. Different beast altogether.

I'd say go 100, just to be on the safe side.

Actually you'd have to use Adobe's cloud based video editing and rendering...so you'd only need one unit.

This thing runs a small OS that is basically Google Chrome browser and everything is cloud/web based.

And for $100-200 more you can get a real laptop. It's like those crappy net books that everyone was going crazy over for all of 12mons then people realized the keyboards were too small, under power system, not enough hard drive space, screen too small, etc...

That's just a waste of $250

Are these similar to the ones they use on Virgin America flights? I vaguely remember seeing google reps, monitoring a kiosk at the terminal...

The reason Netbook sales dropped was the advent of tablets. That is all.

I didn't have any problem with the screen, keyboard or HD size, and I don't know anyone else who did. Maybe that's because anyone who bought a small computer because it is small, then complained about its smallness, would be a fucking idiot.

a netbook then?

I am curious why didn't they label it google as opposed to smasung? I mean they white labeled some gadgets before, like their phone for instance..
It does not look like google laptop, it looks like samsung laptop.

It looks like Chrome OS does support command line just fine. A default limited shell (crosh) by pressing CTRL+ALT+T for terminal, and you can type shell to get to a normal shell. SSH is installed, supports keys, and Git is installed.
