I've never had a problem with malware bytes. I do always run it at least twice though because there have been several occasions that I pick up additional threats on the second run.

Don't use both *facepalm*
That's like using a bunch of anti-virus programs at the same time (not good). I strongly recommend MalwareBytes.

For additional security you should use adblock and noscript extension for firefox.
