    Trade signups with random/bogus domains

Have noticed a few signups today from 141.105.67.x, which appears to be an IP range for a webhost (tested a few of the IPs and they have a web server running on port 80)

The domains seem to be random, and don't actually exist.

Wonder if it's just someone probing to see if their domain shows up as a link, or it's something a little more involved. Like spamming the shit out of it while it's unreg, then actually registering it a few days later once everyone who is going to complain, has?

In general it's not a huge problem for me, so I tend to keep signups open until it becomes an issue. I usually just block the IP of obvious automated signups. I do have additional data that will let me determine with a reasonable certainty whether a given IP is at a webhost (ie, a bot, rather than a human at a consumer ISP) but at the moment it's not worth bothering checking against that.
