same site/brand for different countries & seo

id like to know what you guys think. Want to use same domainname/brandname for netherlands, germany and US/international

I've got the .com, .nl and .de. But what's the best setup for seo? Use the .com only with country links to domain.com/nl/ and /de/ or subdomain (nl.domain.com) or use the .de and .nl domains for this.

My view is I think different tld's with the german and dutch version of the site is best for SEO. I only have to translate basic parts of the site since it will mostly be auto updating so that's not a factor. A .de and .nl says the complete site is for that country, and not a part of it like /de/ or a subdomain.
