No matter what i said before. I'm going with iPhone 5.

seeandsee 09-20-2012 10:03 AM

who fucking care, just make good phones

Sarah_Jayne 09-20-2012 10:28 AM

I drank the Apple Koolaid a while back but I am never going to be one of those that lines up or has to have the newest phone straight away. My BF is an Andriod guy and I keep feeling like I should give it a try but I can't get myself to part with the iPhone. They do have their control over me, I admit.

A mate just sent me this photo of people lining up to get the iphone 5.

What the fuck is wrong with these people? It is a piece of plastic with a screen on it that makes phone calls. It is not a 100million dollar winning lottery ticket.

And the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" campaign is the work of one person and not the company?

Please pass me some of whatever it is that you're smoking.

And for reasons I cannot understand our iPhone keeps looking for a wifi connection. It's a fucking cell phone - why the fuck does it need a wifi connection?

You can set it to only join known networks, and that will eliminate the issue. That bugged me too at first.

Regarding the appointment thing... all smart phones have done that since the dawn of smart phones.

Okay okay okay... I completely forgot about that ad.

I think that was probably the stupidest commercial I've ever seen.

And since I'm being accused of being an Apple fan boy (ha ha... ha)... I only use PC's. My wife has a Mac and it hasn't been turned on in the past year.

Anyway... this shit is really out of control. Since when did your gadgets become a fucking religion?

You can do so much more with an android phone without the limitations to apple products that the iphone has. Want to watch a movie? Better convert it to MP4 first! Want to hook it up to your TV? or get a charger? Better get a apple only cable. Hell, not only do they not work with other phones but you can't even use your old iphone cables.

Jesus Christ... I think everyone in this entire thread is throwing fanboy accusations at me now. I'm a pretty objective dude... and yes, everything you're saying is correct. I weighed all of these pro's / con's before I bought what I have.

I fully understand the limitations of Apple products. Yes, they lock you into an ecosystem that is fairly limiting. Yes, they have stupid connectors that they charge a lot of money for. Yes, iTunes totally sucks. Yes, the phone doesn't have features that it clearly should.

But IN MY OPINION... it's still the most polished, well designed device you can buy. iOS may not have the ability to do all sorts of things you can do with ICS or Jelly Bean... but it's more slick. And I do realize I'm paying the Apple tax. :)

This is an Apple induced hysteria to create buzz and want for a product.

People who buy other phones don't wait in line like this :2 cents:

You are not alone. People used to wait in line like this for Cabbage Patch Dolls too. It's a marketing thing.

Whats wrong? They are brainwashed sheep. Even if I thought that iphone is best phone (which is definitely not) I would be reluctant to buy it knowing that I will be associated with the sheep.

I have no problem with people buying the phones, do what they want, what I simply do not understand is lining up for it?

Why?

Just go to the shop next week and walk straight in the door instead of camping out for days for the thing.

Does SAMSUNG (or any Android phone/tablet for that matter) give their clients FREE training how to get the most from their products, and FREE "Genius Bar" tech support for every last one of their products?? It does not matter if you own an original iPod, or the newest Retina display Macbook Pro, the Genius Bar - located in every Apple Store - will give you FREE tech support whether your product is in warranty or not!

Hmmmm ...

Apple is a lifestyle choice .... not just a phone, or a tablet, or a laptop, or an MP3 player ...

People who do not own Apple products would not know this though ...

Apparently we need to add an 'elitist' modifier to 'sheep'.

My Motorola Milestone android didn't require "free training" or "tech support" (read: babysitting). Against all odds...I figured it all out all by my lonesome.

It took me 15-20 mins.

LOL lifestyle choice, thats a good one. I used to own an iphone. I asked the guy why every time I was at the gym my phone restarted my playlist on a different song at random and the guy asked "where did you get he songs" and told me the files were corrupt because i was using a PC and if I downloaded them from a mac it would have worked.

Then later that night Jimmy3way (huge fanboy who's a webmaster) told me it's the shake feature on the phone and how to turn it off. And to top it off you can't even do anything in the store without going online and setting up an appointment.

So .... If I have this right ... you blame the company because you did not read your owner manual and did not know how to enable/disable a feature?

WOW .... ok.

My point is that when you buy an apple product, you get free support for the lifetime of that product, regardless warranty or if you bought it new, used, or other ...

There is no other phone/tablet/computer company that offers this level of support. If you are technically savvy to some degree, and can figure out how to use your phone/tablet/computer on your own, good for you, but for the people like my 66 year old mother-in-law who are buying a tablet computer for the first time, and have no clue what it really can do, Apple offers FREE one-on-one training in-store to make sure you are able to get the most from your device.

Nobody is forcing anyboy to buy/use Apple .... but why is it so cool for non-Apple users to bash the people who choose to buy Apple products? I have never understood this phenomenon for the life of me!!!!

If you don't like Apple, or think it is 3 times over-priced considering your Acer will do everything an Apple device will ..... then GOOD FOR YOU ..... but your Acer device, and be happy .... bashing and belittling Apple users serves no purpose.

I drive a Nissan Altima SE-R ..... I do not drive around town laughing at, belittling, and bashing Mercedes owners. What would be the point? :Oh crap

I have an iPhone 4 and probably getting the 5 but that commercial is hilarious. I want the S3 but it's just too big for me and I know I'd regret it if I got it. New iPhone is a nice size, coulda been a tiny bit bigger tho but hey it's big enough.

That looks like the mall in downtown Seattle... which is surprises me but on closer inspection I see that it is all hipsters. So I realize now it was probably a trick like those police roundups where they call a bunch of people with outstanding warrants to come downtown because they just won a big prize. When everyone shows up then Microsoft reps all try to pawn off the overstock of Windows phones.

Yes, you are so smart, random internet turd.

Way to make wide sweeping generalizations, fucktard.

Apple isn't the world's largest company because blind lemmings. It's the world's largest company because it's products are made to last and it's support is #1. Customer satisfaction surveys constantly place Apple at #1.

I'll pay $2,500 bucks for a Macbook Pro anyday over a cheap, shitty, plastic wanna be HP. BECAUSE I CAN AFFORD IT. The money that I pay for one is inconsequential to my bottom line. It's the same reason I drive a Mercedes and not a fucking Corolla.

Take your head out of your ass and realize it's different strokes for different folks. :2 cents:

Doesn't matter how rich you are, or pretend to be on internet forums, spending more than you need to on the same hardware made by the same people, because you like the fruity badge, is silly.
