    American's God given rights.

    This is what he said.

    He slammed Obama for not understanding the fundamental nature of our country. He quoted Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence that our rights are God-given, not government-given.

    The President justifies taking more of what people earn by saying:?look it?s also our system of government that makes things possible for entrepreneurs and innovators and that?s true, but let?s stop and think about the government and what it tells us in its founding document, the Declaration of Independence. It does not say that the government gave us our rights; it said that God gave us our rights?they come with us, not with government. It said that among our rights given to us by God, by our creator, were life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our capacity to build and lift ourselves and reach for the stars is not thanks to a government that says ?fine.? It is instead thanks to a God who loves us and gives us those rights and those opportunities.
    Did God give American's the right to commit genocide on the Indians and to use slaves to create wealth?

    The only place in Euro where anyone could say that is the Vatican. When a Mormon tells me, who wants to lead the most powerful nation on earth. I get worried. Americans applause and this wasn't in some Bible Belt State!!!!

              Always get a chuckle out of "God given rights." Apparently, those rights were only intended for wealthy white men, but God must have had a word with whitey because they later extended those rights to blacks and women. Sooner or later God will have another word with whitey and explain to them that those rights are for everyone, all around the world.

              That said, I think Santa Clause would give us better rights. At least he would give us gifts.

                                                      I'm pretty sure nowhere in the Declaration of Independence does it saw god, it says "that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights" last I checked my parents created me, so they would be my creator.
