Here we go AGAIN. AFF tax forms

Quote:
If you are receiving this email it is because your name is on my list of affiliates without a current tax form on file. Please even if you have already sent them in before email or fax either your W9 (US Affiliates) or W8 (foreign affiliates) in. The deadline to get tax forms on file for all affiliates is September 14th 2012.

Please make sure:

- The name on the form is exactly the same as your payee name on the account. If it is a company name on your account please put the company name on the form. If it?s your personal name please put your personal name on the form. If you need to update the payee name on your account I will be happy to help you do so.

- The address on the form must match what is on the account. Example: If you have a P.O. Box on your account there needs to be a P.O. Box on your form. If you need to update the address on your account please let me know I will be happy to help you do so.

- All forms need a tax ID number. If it is a W9 (US affiliates only) please make sure to include your social security number for personal forms. For W9 forms using a company name you need to put a company tax ID number. For W8 (foreign affiliates) forms. Even though the Tax id space says optional accounting will not apply the form to your account without one. This would be the equivalent number to the United States Social security number for your country. If you are unsure of what that number might be please consult a tax professional for your country.

- If you have more than one Gpid. You can write all of them at the top right hand corner of the form. However, all the information must match on each one of the accounts.

Please either emails the form back to myself, or you can fax it in to the accounting department (408)745-5680. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

It says that you have my tax info just like it has for many years. I think this happened a few months ago too and then an employee stated if we are in the US and have sent the form in years ago that we are fine.

What the hell is going on over there? It's starting to get old dealing with this crap every couple months.

I haven't emailed them back yet this time. Three months ago I was told it was fine. If I have to email them I will be even more annoyed.

If you have sent in the form years ago and your information has not changed then you should be fine.

you might have been grandfathered in before we required w-9's a long time ago, so a few months ago it would have said yes in the system but we don't actually have a w-9 on file. hit me up I'll look into it.

W9 w8

The IRS only requires you fill the form once. However companies are very poor in recording keeping and can never find their files. So every year or so ask for new W9 & W8. Plus companies move a lot and they need your current address on the form.

Jesus Fucking Christ. Go to the IRS website fill in the form, print it off, scan a copy to keep. Email when asked by various companies. You're out a few minutes here and there.

Never heard so much crying over so little.

Grandfathered in? The IRS has required W9s for decades.

I keep a digital copy of mine for exactly the above reason. Easy to e-mail off when needed.
