Isn't it funny how no one ever calls you closed minded if you say you don't believe in flying elephants.
Inside please if you believe in guardian angels

Fairy-tales? Entities existing in other dimensions/densities isn't all that crazy of an idea, especially with the advances being made in quantum physics and how we understand the Universe.Ah the good ol "you're closed minded" if you don't believe in fairy tales.
Tell me, where does being closed minded stopped? If i don't believe in unicorns, am i closed minded as well? Bigfoot? Purple flying elephants? Do you think there is any difference between your guardian angel and purple flying elephants? Or are both just as likely to exist in your world? Please explain.
I don't personally know if these extradimensional entities exist, but I'm open to the possibility. Who am I to sit here and claim that something like that doesn't exist? How would I know for sure? That goes for you too.
Human beings can only perceive a tiny percentage of what actually exists, we only have our 5 senses to rely on.Comment

Yes and in your fairy tale world it's guardian angels ofcourse.
This has nothing to do with quantum physics and it has everything to do with things you WANT to believe in. There is just as big a chance there are flying elephants in another dimension as there are guardian angels. Yet if i say i don't believe in flying elephants you don't give a shit but if i say i don't believe in guardian angels you get your panties in a bunch and call me close minded. Can't you seriously not see how stupid this is?Comment

You keep bringing up flying elephants, yet I've never heard of this anywhere. Can you point me towards any kind of evidence regarding these flying elephants? I've heard people describe encounters with "angelic beings" so-to-speak, but nothing about these flying elephants.Comment

I can't. There is just as much evidence for flying elephants than there is for angels. None. Zero. Absolutely nothing.I don't "want" to believe in anything.

You still fail to see your flawed logic.
See how you call flying elephants unlikely yet angels are likely in your fucked up fantasy world.
This is why i can't stand believers. I'm closed minded for not believing in angels but talk about flying elephants and that same person will ask for evidence.
And yes you WANT to believe. It's so clear even a blind person could see it.Last edited by Dirty F; 09-04-2012, 08:42 AM.Comment

I just told you I don't "want" to believe anything, and then you come right back and tell me that yes, I do want to believe. lol, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree there.I can't. There is just as much evidence for flying elephants than there is for angels. None. Zero. Absolutely nothing.

Part of the definition of "evidence" is "To support by testimony; attest."
So technically, yes, evidence exists regarding extradimensional entities, spirits, angels, whatever the fuck you want to call them.
I never said that flying elephants were "unlikely," I said that I've never heard of any evidence regarding that phenomenon. I also never said that angels are "likely," I said it's "possible." Big difference.
You like to assume things and put words in people's mouths don't you?Comment

Really? So if i tell you i saw a flying elephant there is evidence regarding flying elephants?
Or is there evidence of me saying that i saw a flying elephants. Just as there is evidence for people saying they saw angels. Your 'wanting to believe' gets in the way of objective and critical thinking. You talk about quantum physics in one posts and in the next you say there is evidence of there being angels.
Basically you talk a lot of shit. Just because you clearly want to believe in certain things.Comment

I'm not the one who included "To support by testimony; attest" as part of the definition of the word "evidence," so don't blame me for there technically being evidence of angels. You are looking for "physical" evidence, which would obviously be more difficult to obtain. All I was saying is there's no evidence that I know of regarding flying elephants, except maybe for this thread where you seemed to completely make it up out of nowhere.Really? So if i tell you i saw a flying elephant there is evidence regarding flying elephants?

I don't know why you keep going on about me "wanting" to believe something. I don't want or need to believe anything. Things either exist or they don't, and a lot of things that might exist in this Universe you and I will never know about. You're the one who seems so stuck on "disproving" things that might exist, instead of simply saying "Hmm, I honestly have no clue if they exist or not, I'm just one single human trying to make sense of this existence like everyone else."
You need to step outside of your know-it-all mindset and realize that you don't really "know" anything, none of us do.Comment

Ok, this is getting stupid. I'm gonna try one more time to explain things to you. The last time. I'm not claiming i know everything. Or how the universe works. I'm very open minded to the fact that there could be tons of "things" we can't see (yet). But right now there is absolutely no reason to believe that the chances or there being angels are bigger than the chances of there being flying elephants. Again: can't you really not see what i'm trying to say? You say there is evidence of there being angels. No, there is not. Absolutely no evidence whatsoever. There just tons of believers (like you) who want to see angels and then obviously claim they did. Why no flying elephants? Because nobody cares about flying elephants. It's that simple. If flying elephants could heal, come from heaven, were sent by God, warn people or whatever idiot story you can think of then all those people would instead see flying elephants and you, as a believer, would claim there is evidence that flying elephants exists. This has everything to do with religion and wanting to believe and nothing to do with critical thinking (which for some reason you seem to think you're doing).
If you still don't understand how wrong you are then so be it. Nothing i can do about it obviously. Maybe you should smoke less drugs.Comment

You're a frustrating person to talk with lol... You keep telling me that I'm a "believer" and I "want to believe" even after I have repeatedly told you that's not true.Ok, this is getting stupid. I'm gonna try one more time to explain things to you. The last time. After that i give up.

I don't believe in angels, I believe in the possibility that angels might exist. Do you see the difference? I'm not going to say that I believe angels exist, because I don't know if they do or not. Is that clear enough?
And you're not being fair to people who have claimed to experience some sort of alleged extradimensional phenomenon because you already have your mind made up that they are crazy and did not experience what they claim. So it's pointless for someone like you to even look at the evidence (yes, that's what it is because part of the definition of the word evidence is "To support by testimony; attest," which has already been explained for you).
You claim it all has to do with religion but that's not true. Other dimensions which might contain sentient lifeforms of some sort could exist as quantum physics is beginning to explain regardless of what any "religion" has to say about it.
You even just said that you are "very open minded to the fact that there could be tons of 'things' we can't see," but then in the same paragraph you bash people who claimed to have experienced just that... something we can't see. Contradictory much?Comment
