    Best way to check a house for bug devices?

    Lately someone seems to know WAY too much about my life, being a thousand miles away. I've been thinking and can only explain it with a hidden camera/microphone planted in my home. Is this a crazy idea? Do girls normally do that? I'm totally freaking out here, gfy please help

                          Anyway, no way to have any idea what kind of surveillance to look for since you dont specify the type of information that you suspect was somehow gathered.

                          The kinds of bugs likely to be planted by girls are usually easy to find by physical search. Something placed in the location, a clock or toy or something, with a power cord or heavy with batteries. Highly unlikely if the girl is far away. A spy is much more likely, reporting by phone.

                          If you really got a keylogger, then that's tough luck. They are typically manually installed, not placed thru malware.

                          I'm answering this only because surveillance and countersurveillance is kind of interesting.

                                                                                                          Frequency sweeepers and em field detectors work on a certain class of bugs, but that class is much less popular these days, because of their serious limitations, short transmit range, and short battery life.

                                                                                                          The types of surveillance likely to be installed by a girl probably wouldn't be detected by a frequency sweep, unless she has an accomplice living nearby that can receive a short range radio transmission. Again, in that case, you would be looking for something like an appliance, a lamp or clock radio, something plugged in to provide power for the transmitter.

                                                                                                          Something like a nannycam bear that stored collected surveillance on a mem card is more likely - a girl could buy and place one of those - but someone has to actually physically retreive the mem card.

                                                                                                          All in all - none of these things are super likely.

Get a powerful, bright led flashlight with an adjustable beam. Narrow the beam. Sweep the room and look for reflections from a lense that doesn't belong on the object such as a picture frame, bookshelf, or some other object. The reflection will be a bright dot on the object.

                                                                                                                                              RF bugs require some more complex equipment for detection; but, you can usually find what you need at a good electronics store. If you get a RF signal detector, be sure to get a digital/analog select switch , a sensitivity tuner, silent detection, earphone jack and a led alarm. It will make the job easier.
