Online video editing sites? Cloud editors?

Hey guys,

just wandering if anyone has had any success using virtue video editors for faster processing time/faster video rendering.

How do they compare? Which sites are the best. Sounds like it might be one service that actually might be better used in the cloud rather than on your computer.

I assume they can also come in handy for group editing projects and for people who don't have the system resources.

Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated, I haven't used any of them but have been considering it.

I didn't know there were any - but it sounds like a great idea. Borrow the power of a few hundred CPUs for a few seconds and your video is done.

Yeah they exist,

I saw one on attack of the show but I forget the name of it. I don't really like the idea of the cloud, but can see some very good uses for it. This sounded like one of them.

Group editing with co-workers, no crazy CPU power needed, are instant rendering time. I'm sure you can't get all the features of a quality desktop editor, but even if just a few its worth it.

Anyone know what I'm thinking of by chance or saw the same show? Was about a year ago.

Youtube has an editor once you upload

these are cloud ones but they are kinda of crap

depends on the features you need. if you just need simple then just use the Youtube editor. If u need more powerful editor use the Open Source Lightworks one

I'm studying digital cinematography and all of my course load is online and collaborative for the most part.

We've had to use MixMoov for a few class projects and it's actually quite nice.

That depends, if you say buy from a content provider who has the content on a server, transfer to video editing machine - then to your webhost, that's the same number of transfers as downloading to your local machine and re-uploading to your host. Plus the servers probably have much faster connections that your home one.
