BTW Apple fanboys and people that like MACs = not the same!!

I have a Samsung Nexus and a BlackBerry, I really don't like the iPhone, the Samsung Android phones are FAR superior over iPhones.

However I do like my MacBook, and I am really PRO MAC.

People that like MACs do NOT automatically like iPhones and are not all Apple fanboys.

I chose the products that are the best based on years of experience. For phones that happens to be Samsung for me and for computers it's Mac.

That remind me how they also sued some jukebox manufacturing company due to similar name, wondering how that went.

Zarathustra 08-28-2012 09:10 AM

yeah worst products Ive ever owned.

Bought a few of their ipods, iphones, ipads etc, all junk

Every few years they would change the connectors and my docks would become useless.

Also I had to use a program called Rain just so I could use my ipods as a hard drive storage and was forced to use itunes or else. I eventually got fed up a wrote my own program for the ipod

Never again

No big fan of Apple here but they have a right to protect their investment in R&D. Also, a US Court apparently disagrees with the OP.

Exactly. People around here bitch about stolen content which is intellectual property but they don't care about Apple protecting their rights for the IP they own?

Not to mention coming standard with dumb shit like the scroll wheel reversed and the harddrive icon hidden so you can't even navigate where you want to without configuring things.

Instead of coming here complaining about it, did you take it back to Apple and have them fix it? If it's brand-new it's still under warranty and if you really don't like it you can always return it.

What Apple did was assembling a product using already existing technologies. No doubt the first two iPhones were a big leap forward on the phone market. What they did was improve the phone making the keyboard obsolete, and making the software better.
Credit for that. It wasn't without inspiration from already existing products though.

Portraying Steve Jobs as being ahead of his time and declaring him one of this century's biggest innovators is quite an exaggeration.

Seriously, why do you all care so much?

Some people like Apple. Some people don't. Some people like Android/Windows/Foreskins/American Football. Why do you feel the need to try and convert people to think like you do?

Do you think some snarky posts will make someone who likes something you don't will read your post and throw away their kit and think THANK GOD FOR THAT POST, I NOW SEE THE LIGHT!

Because it's not just a billion dollars in lawsuits. They're now trying to stop Samsung selling anything - at least phones and tablets - in the US.

Where does this stop - if I want a new phone or tablet, am I going to have no choice but to buy Apple? Seems that's what Apple want.

I remember a quote from one of Microsofts bigwigs - might have been Steve Balmer, who was discussing their anti trust problems in Europe. He basically said 'We are looking for a fair share of the market. As far as I'm concerned, a fair share is 100% of it'.

In the end, it's only the consumer that's getting fucked over, anyway.
I don't agree with this. So get fucked.

London Banker 08-28-2012 11:41 AM

Steve Jobs had a hardon for Flash as well. So Apple go out to destroy because some irrational OCD freak, who is now dead, decided he didn't like the way someone else worked.

It all smells bad to me.

I am not an Apple freak, had an iMac but was unable to get comfy with it for some reason, I am a pathetic windows guy it seems even although I hate it and generally the computer industry - BUT I have to admit that the iPhone 4 I bought back then is the best electronic device I ever had. It was pricey but it can be used for so many things and caused me and my kids so many happy moments I will never regret buying it. You like it or not, Apple changed computer and cell phone industry big time, in a good direction I think. :pimp

Wow.. looks like the online Apple Bible run by one of Steve's most dedicated disciples.

http://i50.tinypic.com/2j4agxg.jpg

To me it only looks like a drawing. If suddenly a drawing is an invention then the Egyptians invented the helicopter, the submarine and the jet plane: http://www.catchpenny.org/abydos.html

Again all above is a combination of already existing technology. Instead of paper drawings, Samsung on the other hand already have a working sample of a flexible display. Apple are probably just waiting for them to add multi-touch and then take them to court.

http://i45.tinypic.com/35ap1s9.jpg

What? Samsung struggling to match the Retina display quality?
Hahaha Samsung fucking MADE the display for Apple when LG and Sharp could not live up to the quality Apple were after. Apple never made a single display, and besides Retina is really just another gimmick to make the avarage iDiot feel special.

If it is really such a major patent then please, please tell me it was an original idea of their own. Looks an awful like menu system from Second Life.

I am, just haven't been fucked driving the thing back yet, it's in the next city and I try not to go there. It's not desperate, I might use it once a week, I'm just pointing out the laughable bullshit about Mac's "just working". My other imac also has a fan issue, it starts loudly going off and I have to wake it up and put it back to sleep to shut it up, it has also been very, very lightly used but is a bit older (I got one for work and home to go with the PCs which work fine)

He was telling me how their new operating system can hook up his calendar to his cell phone. Neato - But using Google calendar and my Android my wife and I have been doing this for years now... We were in a bar the other day and he was pissy that he couldn't get a single. I have never ever EVER not been able to get a single on my cell phone. Ever.

Apple people think their shit is all that when the truth is it's the same exact shit, but they just pay more for it.

Yes, apple is notorious for introducing something and claiming its innovative when actually other phones had that stuff years ago. I remember when they introduced video chating or whatever as revolutionary thing while it was being used on other phones for a while. And stuff like that. They think that its revolutionary because they introduced it, does not matter if it is actually revolutionary or not. Bullshit PR to apple sheep who does not know anything else but apple.

For other Appletards to jerk off over and post in threads like this, to remind everyone just how programmed and oblivious to reality they are.

5 signs that Apple is a cult

'The training for new Apple employees is more like an "indoctrination process", says Philip Elmer-DeWitt at CNN.'

'Upon learning that they've been hired, many newly minted employees burst into tears.'

'The help-desk technicians at Apple stores are known as "geniuses", and [David] Segal reveals that Apple also has a Scientology-like title for its sales staffers, who are known as "specialists".'

'Employees are required to take a satisfaction survey known, in more cultish jargon, as "NetPromoter for Our People."'

'The idea is to instill in employees the notion that they are doing something far grander than just selling or fixing products…[Apple] understands that a lot of people will forgo money if they have a sense of higher purpose.'

'The low wages, the lack of career advancement, and the frenetic workday tend to cool the average employee's fervor, says Segal.'

"Did Apple’s (AAPL) huge win over Samsung (005930) in court last week send Galaxy device owners heading for the hills? According to new data from cell phone resale company Gazelle.com, Samsung smartphones are being dumped by users following a California jury’s declaration that 21 of Samsung’s Android devices infringe on Apple patents — the company reports a 50% increase in the number of Samsung smartphones sold over the past few days. “Consumers seem to be jumping ship,” Gazelle.com’s chief gadget officer Anthony Scarsella told MarketWatch. “We expect this trend to continue, especially with this latest verdict.” Scarsella also noted that the increase in sales has prompted a 10% average price drop on used Samsung devices, and MarketWatch adds that several experts believe prices will continue to fall."

So three people sold one, rather than the usual two.

Linked from the comments:

https://plus.google.com/u/0/11447689...ts/246srfbqg6G

I watched a guy with his friend, pick up a newspaper; and start to remark on the Samsung Apple verdict.

Guy: "Wait, so what they're saying is, Samsung is the same as Apple?"
Friend: "I know, right? Makes me think twice about how much I paid for my Mac Book"
Guy: "Seriously"

Not 10 minutes later, a husband and wife, same newspaper:

Husband: "... Samsung's iPad is the same as Apple's iPad, and I paid how much for the Apple one? Honey, I told you they were a ripoff", after looking up the Samsung tablet on his iPhone.
Wife: "Oh wow," looking at the screen, "... that's a lot cheaper. Think we can return it?"

[...]

"I'm writing this post after the FOURTH group of Starbucks patrons have made the connection that Samsung is now the same as Apple. They don't know the details, they don't really care, what they know is Apple is saying that Samsung is the same as Apple ... and with one simple Google Search, you get prices that are basically half for what seems to be the same products -- for nearly everything. "

Macs suck balls - The only reason they dont get viruses is cause no one uses them so the hackers dont bother writing viruses for them.

I had a mac and installed IRC on it - Got hacked in 10 minutes flat after connecting - Been on IRC 10+ years on a pc and never been hacked.

How on earth can someone "hack" you via IRC?

MPGdevil 09-03-2012 05:06 AM

So Apple just added following Samsung devices to the ban list.

Galaxy S III
Verizon Galaxy S III
Galaxy Note
Galaxy Note 10.1

http://www.appleinsider.com/articles...complaint.html
Quote:

Apple claims it is suffering and will suffer irreparable harm from Samsung's violation of eight utility patents, four being asserted in the Apple v. Samsung case and four issued after that suit began. According to Apple, Samsung has "continued to flood the market with copycat products," since the separate landmark case started last year. In the intervening months, the Korean company has "continued to release new infringing products, including its current flagship device, the Galaxy S III."

The four new patents Apple is leveraging against Samsung include the '647 "Data Detectors" patent, the '721 "Slide-to-unlock" property, the '172 "Word completion" invention and the '604 "Universal search" patent. The Cupertino tech giant successfully wielded the '721 "Data Detectors" patent to obtain an ITC sales ban against certain Android-based HTC handsets in December, however Google continued to implement the feature in its mobile operating system despite the suit's outcome.
Got to love Apple's slide to unlock patent.

http://www.patentlyapple.com/.a/6a01...678b628970c-pi

Original idea of theirs never seen before...

http://www.netbooknews.com/wp-conten...ck-550x402.jpg

http://oddfunny.com/wp-content/uploa...-To-Unlock.jpg

Apple 'slide-to-unlock' patented December 2005.

Neonode N1m launched Q1 2005.

This device had several slide gestures, among other slide-to-unlock (4:00 - 4:30).

Another sample of Apple "borrowing" other peoples ideas, making it their own and then force others to pay for using it.

I am quite excited to follow the launch of iPhone 5 because they look more and more desperate to me.

Raz 09-03-2012 09:30 AM

Who needs Apple? Just hand out communicators to everyone and be done with it. :1orglaugh
