    Hipsters

    The hipster look is the ultimate paradox: We don't want to look like the masses and don't want to care about how we look, but we look all alike and we care more than anyone how we look like.

    How can something this stupid be so popular?

    Went to amsterdam for a few days and the amount of fake sheep-like hipsters there is enormous. That's another paradox: It's a plastic, fake, capitalistic movement when the basic idea of hipsters is actually the opposite. These people are completely retarded. I'm glad i live in a city with white trash, turks and neutral people. At least they stay real. Hipster bicycles are the new thing i noticed - they all have plastic crates on the front wheel - an old granny feature that they adopted, so now it's hip. Jesus christ.

                                              What is the problem? That they call themselves hipsters? Or that you are somehow intimidated by hipsters? And if so, why?

                                              People who look a certain way tend to hang around with people who look the same. People who dress one way tend to hang with others who dress the same. Think Metal heads, goths, suits, hipsters, urban, etc.

                                              During breaks in filming of the movie PLANET OF THE APES, actors made up as different ape species tended to hang out together, gorillas with gorillas, orangutans with orangutans, chimps with chimps. It wasn't required, it just naturally happened.

                                              So here is the question. If you or the way you dress associates with with Group A, and you see and get close to Group B who looks differently, where does the feeling of intimidation come from? Nico-t was obviously pissed off by the Hipsters even though they did nothing wrong. Whatever he thinks about the hipsters does not only keep him away from them, it makes him hate them. Why? If they said or did nothing to do you Nico, you should not feel intimidated and should have no hatred towards them, yet you do.

                                              (I'm not trying to pick on you, I'm just interested in the psychology behind this).
