Footer/sidewide links a big no no?

    http://www.searchenginejournal.com/2...in-2012/47245/

Only blogpost the way to go?
If these points cause seo damage, who do all the big porn sites still buy mass links?

I WANT A REFUND FOR ALL THE LINKS I BOUGHT!

The most enthusiastic proponents of footer links are the sellers of footer links, that should tell you a lot.

Sitewide footer links being a no-no hasn't been a secret for a couple of years now, at least.

Blogroll links still work though, as long as they don't look as spammy as the footer links usually do.

Because they're beyond getting penalized. It would take a huge penalty for those sites to really take a big shit in the SERPs.

I should have done this long ago.

I installed Widget Logic on my WordPress CMS.

I took out my links from all post.

I am thinking about removing all sidebar ads and links when a Google Bot visits.

They are fine, they get links from various places/locations.

What do you think a natural link profile looks like? Footer links, sidebar links, article links, header links, image links, ... they all belong to it.

Google probably almost ignores footer links and they don't help at all but they shouldn't harm, unless you have them too many/the most.

                  Hi,
                  I came accross a website called pornotube.xxx
This website has sitewide links on the header of each page. Since this is a tube website and many pages containing videos, there are also many outgoing sitewide links.
I checked in alexa, this website has rank 100,000
                  ---------------

Commenting on blogs typically don't do you any good because so many of them have the "nofollow" tag. The trick is to find a blog that is a dofollow blog and then reply to posts WISELY - don't spam the blog, make actual real replies to their posts and let your link in your header enjoy the benefits.

But then again, finding dofollow blogs in porn with remotely decent pagerank isn't exactly an easy thing to do.
