adg, you vape mostly right? have you tried dabs yet?
recommended.
I vape practically daily. Haven't tried dabs yet, although I occasionally buy wax and create vape sandwiches with it in my vapor chamber (so that the hash oil doesn't seep into my volcano).
Since I like to work when I am buzzed, and I have a lot of work to do everyday, I don't have a great need to get totally obliterated on a regular basis, so I haven't invested in the special apparatus required (special bong with titanium, etc).
Seems like a big trend, and as much as some stoners like ritual, it will probably be around for awhile, so I'm sure that I'll give it a try at some point.
I made two pounds of cannabutter last week using leftover vape material along with an ounce of flowers, so I've been creating all kinds of cannabis culinary creations lately.

nice, what do you cook up with that butter?
a lot of dabs in that vid eh, although most were overheating the nail. no need to go red hot. the vapor at ~5:30 is the right amount of vape and the Ti holds heat super efficiently.

I cook mostly baked goodies - brownies and cookies, although since I made a big batch of cannabutter in a Crock Pot this time (took 8+ hours), I am experimenting more with some recipes from this book (btw, I met the author last year at a presentation/book signing - cool lady from the Bay Area):
I drizzled cannabutter on popcorn for the Oscars, which I'm sure helped make up for an otherwise boring telecast (with the exception of a few great comedy/musical moments).
The best part about making cannabutter using leftover vape material, is that you get a lot more bang for your buck, plus the variety of cannabinoids is much larger (and higher quality), than the mid/low-grade flowers people generally use when cooking with cannabis (example, with the amount of cannabutter I made, I can make hundreds of cookies which normally sell for $10+ each, and the quality I make is better than what is sold in most cannabis dispensaries, since I am using better ingredients; it cost less than $100 for the ounce of mid-grade flowers; if I had smoked the cannabis, it would not be useable for creating cannabutter - note: I do not sell cannabis/cannabis cookies - strictly for personal consumption and sharing with my friends).

this is a new trend? i guess sucking it through a bong is new to me but we were doing similar things with hash oil almost 20 years ago using hookah coals and hot knives. back in my younger days hash oil was all we could get or at least it was the easiest to get in constant supply.

whats the difference between hash oil and wax? other than what it looks like, seems like very similar methods for making it. and looking on google, there are lots of people doing what they call 'dab's with hash oil.

yeah, it's about manhood. you keep telling yourself that. i don't understand comments like this, i simply posted about dabs, now it's a question about manhood to some people. that's too bad.

yeah, i am reading about the various extraction methods now, i've never researched it, just gone on the advise of the budtenders.
i don't think it's whipped though, i can't ever find any type hash that's >50% thc while all the wax i get is 80%+ thc.
i guess typically your average hash oil, which is really weed oil as its not made from hash but just called hash oil for some reason, anyways, its usually made from the 'shake' or leaves or whatever, where as 'budder' or wax is made from high quality buds. i've never seen budder or wax personally.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..
it's a concentrate, hash is a concentrate, i think you are right, wax is a hash
but it's much more dry than any hash i've come across.
Have you seen that documentary in Hash making on Morocco? Hash is basically keef compressed into bricks. You should see it, its awesome. Cant remember which channel.

i think you are exactly right, i was thinking before that it was just no stems and a more refined processing but this makes more sense and explains the ultra high level of cannaboids.

here's what this article i was reading says about kief bricks, i don't know if it's accurate or not though
Ok as i was saying there?s 4 or 5 types of hash you?ll see in southern California co-op?s. There should only be 4 or 5 type of hash followed by the strain name when you buy hash.in any co-op anywhere in california.
1. Keef, Kif, kief? (isnt really even a hash or concentrate so you shouldn?t even see this in the concentrate section but i will add it just to be PC.)
It?s either loose and sold by the gram or it?s pressed and sometimes heated to make hard hash, shady vendors or shops will say this is bubble hash but it is not. The color of pressed and heated kief ranges from blond to black in color. You can see the plant matter in the hash when broken open. It?s made by taking marijuana and shaking it over fine screens. Not the purest product in terms of removal of plant matter and harmful combustibles but it Works great for butter or oil extraction for edibles. But, Just make hash and get 100% of your thc extracted and then put that into your , food grade glycerine, oil or butter! Simple things like maximizing your extrraction amount and the cleanliness of hash makes huge difference between recreational and medical. Anyway for you smokers out there ?.This product does not bubble or melt when heated. I don?t recommend smoking it, as it?s not much purer than just smoking bud itself.

Don't let your jimmies be rustled, it was just a jab at people who don't do it old school anymore..
Yeah I'm not really into vaping or dabbing or whatever these people do now days... I'm old school, give me a joint, blunt, or bowl and I'm golden.
Trendy is not a word that comes up often when people describe me. The process of smoking is not healthy. I smoked cannabis the old fashioned way for decades, but all that smoking was having a negative impact on my lungs. Vaporizing and consuming edibles are much healthier methods than smoking.
Depending on one?s experience within the realm of cannabis consumption, some may never have heard of vaporizing.
Vaporizing is a common technique for consuming marijuana, while at the same time negating many irritating respiratory toxins that exists within the grown marijuana flower and are released when smoked.
Conversely, vaporizing allows one to get at all of the psychoactive ingredients available within that specific strain of marijuana , minus the combustion that ordinarily takes place during consumption.
The basic design of the average marijuana vaporizer is to allow marijuana smokers to inhale the many active Cannabinoids, while at the same time avoiding any of the harmful elements that may exist on that specific flower? although invisible to the naked eye.
While most don?t know it ? There is a vast difference in the quality of smoke that one receives when they vaporize versus igniting their plant matter. When one smokes a joint, or hits their bong approximately 88% of the combusted smoke gases contain non-cannabinoid elements, most of which do not get you high and provide potential health risks.
Conversely when one uses a marijuana vaporizer the smoke/gases that they are inhaling consists of approximately 95% cannabinoids, otherwise known as the psychoactive ingredients that both calm the mind and soothe the body.
tbh, the reaction to my bringing up dabs in this thread caught me off guard. it's pretty popular where i live. there's even a dab bar.
It's okay, I still love you kitten. <3

Yeah I understand that, I'd probably try vaping sometime, but that's about as far as I go... I've been seeing like crazy things people have been doing.
Burning weed is my favorite smell in the world. That's what made me start smoking. I loved when my parents lit up in the house as a kid. I vape, but I can never give up the smoke... not yet anyway.

I prefer vaping and eating these days. Vaping and eating it gives me a cleaner high with much less 'body load' as they like to call it. Not inhaling all that smoke and other shit doesn't make me as tired/lazy.
I have yet to try concentrates (apart from the odd bit of scissor hash). I worry once I start using concentrates my tolerance will skyrocket.
