Deja Vu was great!

Tough way to go!

Leaving people that love you isn't good :(

Watching someone die a slow death over a period of a year compaired to a suicide, I think I would take that year. say everything I want to say and how much I love them blah blah, compaired to having not being able to say anything and to convince them to stay with me longer I feel would be much harder on the family. the wife would be devastated with a suicide I would think thus being a much longer time of grieving. Although i don't think you ever stop grieving over someone close to you.

I've had a hard time with my father's death and it will be 2 years next month. I couldn't imagine a suicide death. But, it is their life too one never knows what someone else goes thru to come to that conclusion of their life.

A sad sad day for the family for sure.

He had inoperable brain cancer. Who the fuck wants to die that way?

Bridge is basically for base-jumping wannabe's...

Anyway... There's a million things you can do with a bridge besides suicide. Seems a little... premature of a conclusion.

You have obviously never been on the Vincent Thomas Bridge. :2 cents:

Didn't know that when I posted, But if that is the case. after watchin g someone die a slow cancer death I can understand his choice now. I would never go thru what my dad did. And I suppose he didn't want that either so he chose to go out his way, much respect to him for the battle of the descision as to which way he wanted to go and If he was a thrill seeker then the way he went makes some kind of sense. Maybe not to his family but for him that is the way he chose to go. Sad really!

Suicides of successful people in reasonably good health are difficult to understand ...

Why is that?

He had inoperable brain cancer. He was facing a painful death and went out on his own accord.

He was a part of many great movies. That list is impressive.

SilentKnight 08-20-2012 04:22 PM

ABCNews is reporting it was inoperable brain cancer.

If this is true, given his condition, I can understand what motivated him to jump.

Sad ending for a gifted director. I liked a lot of his movies (and his brother Ridley's, too).

RIP Tony Scott.

bronco67 08-20-2012 04:34 PM

I hope he got a second opinion before he went to the bridge.

helterskelter808 08-20-2012 04:59 PM

Tony Scott did NOT have inoperable brain cancer, or for that matter brain cancer at all ... this according to Scott's family.

Quote:

TMZ has learned ... Scott's wife told investigators the rumor that Tony had inoperable brain cancer is "absolutely false."

Although the autopsy results have been deferred pending more tests, our sources say there is no evidence of brain cancer.

What's more ... we're told Scott's wife says Tony did not have any other severe medical issues that would have caused him to take his own life.
Hmm.

Not to speak ill of the dead (RIP), but i was thinking the same thing.

i applaud him now knowing he had inoperable brain cancer - his family will understand and there's no honor in letting cancer torture and destroy you. of course for those with a fighting chance, they should battle on. he did his family a favor, watching somebody die from cancer stays with you, your memories of the person for a long time are of how they were and looked near the end - and that sucks for both the dead and those they leave behind.

Mutt 08-20-2012 11:04 PM

damn :helpme

That was a brilliant scene...the one with Leigh and Gandolfini in the bedroom was not bad either...But the Walken/Hopper scene had Oscar magic all over it.

it will probably be sometime before truth-truth is revealed. He and his brother were pretty competitive, maybe something there. If the brain cancer thing is a hoax.
