Sorry for your loss. I have a few songs that i remind me of ex girlfriends, that are difficult to listen to. I cant imagine having songs remind me of a loss of a loved one. Thanks for sharing.

I guess a lot depends on whether the song reminds you of them in a good way...or bad.

Both songs instantly take me back to the exact time they passed...and although both were bad moments, somehow the songs help to bring their memory back in an unusually reminiscent way.

This one still gives me chills really bad... I was in labor with my oldest son, he was what is called a blue baby, and wasn't getting any ozygen, so it was literally life or death with him. This song came on as he came into the world and he didn't cry/breathe til the very last note played. It's like a 7-8 minute song and was the longest minutes of my life.

While he made it thru, this song still really creeps me out and floods all of that back into my head... so I prefer not to listen to it.

The odd thing, this is one of his and his dad's favorite songs. It is a beautiful song, but wow... lol

That's the only song I can think of that really strikes a bad cord in me when I hear it. This was my favorite until that day, 22 years ago.

I never thought I'd post about this but here goes.

?Too Late? by Carol king brings back some sad memories for me.
It was played to me by my wife during a reconciliation talk we were having.

I said to her ?shut off the music please? she said ?Listen to the words?
Did you lose your mind, I?m trying to talk to you about our future and you want me to listen to music? No just this song.

We did eventually end up separating and I found the breakup extremely difficult.
We had 2 boys and I felt as though my world was shattered but vowed I?d never go back
regardless of what it took.

When she finally realized the grass wasn?t as green as she thought it would be she
began hinting at reconciliation. One night she called and asked if she could stop bye
to talk, during the conversation I walked over to the record player, put on that same record she played to me a year or so ago and just starred at her. This was a week or so before thanksgiving. About a month later on December 18th one week before Christmas she killed herself.

I lived with a ton of guilt for quite some time after that but I had 2 boys that needed me.

As time went by my guilt began to turn to animosity that grew stronger by the day and still today more than 30 years later I totally despise everything about her.

I know many of you are going to think I?m a cruel heartless person for saying that but it?s honestly how I feel.

the most heartbreaking for me ... doro - für immer (forever)

just like forrest gump (that movie makes me cry out loud every time its on tv, because the story is so similar to mine), i met my soulmate when i was barely 18yo (1984) ... love at first sight ... but, life took turns and we have been together/apart several times ... when we finally got back together in 2003, this song was on the radio ... a little later i visited a buddy in MN/USA and when i got back - SHE WAS DEAD! i still have to cry badly whenever i hear this tune ... life just aint the same when you lost your soulmate ...

after that ... no more relationships for me - thanks, but no thanks
