Could the percentage be less than today if were not for all of those other things mentioned? Sure. Could the adult business, industry wide, helped to prevent this by using DRM or other technology? Yes. Could affiliate programs not given away access to their entire members area helped slow the spread? Of course.

Personally I think revenues would be higher for many companies however that's not the point.

Piracy is illegal, it's theft and it should be stopped regardless of profits at either end of the equation. Making money from Piracy aggravates the act of piracy leading to stiffer potential penalties.

Robbing a bank that makes no profit is just as illegal as robbing a bank which makes an obscenely huge profit.
