Those of you suggesting that 2-3k/night is way off are not considering a lot of factors. I have been doing this for many years with all kinds of villas in many exotic locations so I know what they go for. Yes maybe you can get a hotel/resort for 2-3k/week but this is not a hotel. You cannot shoot this stuff any place where there are other people around. No hotel is going to give the ok to shoot on their property and doing it on the sly is asking for trouble. Maybe some of you do that but you are probably just a camera and a girl. We have a small truck full of pro equipment. This place is a 4 bedroom private villa that comes with it's own staff, meals prepared, a car, etc. It's quite literally the only high end place in Santorini that does not have a neighbour breathing down your neck. Those of you suggesting that I could get an equivalent place that looks this good for 2-3k per week should get busy finding it for me and I'll pay you a 20% finders fee.

Price sounds about right, 2-3k a week gets you a good hotel room in santorini, not a villa

I cannot claim to produce shots without photoshop. There's always something that needs a bit of work, a cable in the background, the leg of a stand, reflections in glass, some levels adjustments etc.

I don't see ITC and ALS as being all that similar at all. Some content is a bit similar but the shooting style is completely different.

I agree, Santorini is a bit more expensive than other mediteranian islands, but damnd 2-3k/DAY for a villa is still crazy. 25k/week is nuts... :)

Depends what your priorities are. If you're just going for a holiday then maybe 2-3k/day is nuts.... (or maybe not if you were a wealthy person and you like nice places. I mean that's why these places are in business to start with). If you want some awesome content then you gotta pay for it. A basic shoot location in LA is 1k. A real nice one is 1.5 to 2k. Now add in that the location is also your accommodation and board and you are in an exotic location and then you are already there. I really didn't expect people to come on here and tell me I'm nuts. You have no business assuming what a persons priorities are.

Nobody is calling him nuts. I called the price of 25k$/week for that kind of villa nuts. Ok I admit, I was not in Santorini, but I stayed in same quality villas in Italy (islands included) for about 5k/week. So 25k/weeks sounds unbelievable (even considering Santorini might be more expensive, but not that more expensive).

could you detail more about your technical methods?
i see very few shadows though shooting in sunny daylight in this region would normally create harsh shadows and squinting models.

Hey mate... I am from Greece, of course Santorini is great place but the amount that u paid (or Sirina paid) is huge... I can tell u great places like this here in Greece and of course cheaper with all include.... hit me if u need infos for future shootings!

There's very few shadows because I am filling them all in with flash. This set had about 5 flashes spread around and pointing in various directions. Squinting models are certainly an issue in a bright sunny day on a white reflective surface. If I remember correctly in this instance she kept her eyes closed and I gave her a countdown to open her eyes for the shot.

I issued the challenge for anyone to find an equivalent place at a cheeper price and I'll pay a 20% finders fee. No one came forward with anything.

Been visiting Santorini last summer with my wife, and the guide mentioned that price range, up to 15,000 EUROs / night. For most luxury villas of course.

So the price is realistic for sure.
