It shows total crimes by country. These are reported crimes so many of the third world countries where crimes are less likely to be reported are lower.
Of course the US is number 1, but to me the interesting thing is that the UK is #2. They have half as many crimes as the US, but the US has 5 times as many people. Looks like Americans aren't the only people with a crime problem.Comment

If someone is punching you in the face you cant stab them. If someone comes at you with a baseball bat and you happen to have a gun you cant shoot them.

Dude I live in a city neighborhood. A few months back someone attempted a home invasion on my street and were run off by the owner and his rifle. They then proceeded to drop the loaded 9mm in my bushes and hide behind my garage.
There isn't a minute that I don't feel safe. No one here is cowering because they feel threatened. And not everyone and their brother owns guns, so I'm not sure where you get that from.

Chicago does not have the highest murder rate, its not even in the top 10. New Orleans does. Followed by Detroit, St. Louis, Newark, Baltimore, Oakland, etc, etc.

I'm guessing that they don't count all the people that get killed there during the back and forth with Israel in their murder stats. My comment was meant to say that if you lived on the Gaza strip your chances of getting killed are huge compared to you or I living here in the USA just because of the political situation there and all the violence between the Palestinians and Israel.
Hell, I'm surprised they have enough time there to murder people with all the death that happens all around them already.
