Perhaps. However, I would suggest the hobbyist to serious-business-person ratio is just more apparent. The people who treat what they do as an actual business are likely just more focused than they probably used to be, or had to be. The reality is, moreso than ever, you have to put the time and effort in to succeed these days. For many, spending time on GFY is probably not a priority.

I would think it's a pretty safe guess that the seriously minded people are probably just spending more time working than hanging out on GFY, ultimately wasting time. As a direct result, the noise ratio has gone up.

I'd say a better definition of stupid is taking loads of drugs and posting rants at 4am making you look like a total fucking madman whilst at the same time expecting people to trust you with their financials.
