How Nakoula violated his probation is unclear -- the probation report is sealed -- but under the terms of his probation, Nakoula was banned from using computers and the Internet for 5 years without prior approval.

It's possible Nakoula's arrest stems from a use of the Internet -- which would make sense because "The Innocence of Muslims" first rose to notoriety on YouTube.
Just because it's on youtube doesn't mean that he was the one uploading it and using a computer.

So the guy was arrested for a probation violation on his check fraud conviction and that equates to "kidnapped by the government"... and you're drawing conclusions based on a gossip site?

Still, they apparently didn't care about that until now.

Whatever the case, he'll never see the light of day again.

I would think now he popped up on the radar. You get a bench warrant, no one bothers you. One day you get stopped for traffic ticket then youre popped.
I think lawyers will take care of him. I bet Rove was all over that little film project. They are trying to say look obama is like carter in 1979. This was supposed to help prove it and it got out of hand is my theory.

Based on what? He just became a global Internet "superstar". How did they know he was using the Internet and breaking his parole prior to that?

Meaning now he's in the spotlight and "found" he is not going to be safe. I'm sure there is no handful of whack job Muslims who will have no problem beheading him. He can't just simply walk out of jail and go home now.

In terms of the US Gov, if they just got him, they knew where he was the whole time. They just didn't care. Now they have a reason to care.

Like I said, either way, be it from the US gov hiding him (or finding a BS reason to keep him) or him having to hide from Muslim idiots, he's not going to be chillin' at the beach anytime soon. His life is pretty much over. If they are killing US government employees who had nothing to do with the movie, I can't really imagine the horrors they would do to this guy if they got their hands on him.

Unless he gets a Muslim shank in jail, it will be the safest place for him. My guess is he will not be put in general population, unless they want him to die, which could be the plan. Ya never know.

True. He is no stranger to prison so this wont be a new experience for him.

You have to wonder how a christian Egyptian is able to immigrate to America, has enough money to own a gas station, then does these kinds of shady things. Makes you wonder

" In August of 1991, he was convicted on two counts of selling watered-down gasoline. " source

"Nakoula struggled with a series of financial problems, according to California state tax and bankruptcy records. In June 2006, a $191,000 tax lien was filed against him in the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds office. In 1997, a $106,000 lien was filed against him in Orange County.

In addition to the fraud conviction, Nakoula also pleaded guilty in 1997 to possession with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and was sentenced to a year in jail, said Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office." SOURCE

You seem to be missing something. The article says he was picked up for violating his parole which said no Internet. With this video, he just stated to the world that he is using the Internet. Before the video, how can anyone know he was using the Internet, if he even was?

Seems he broke his probation. Shame on him.

But clearly the US Government makes people "disappear" all the time. You know, Patriot Act and all of that.

Do I understand you correctly as in he could not have been tracked via the internet, because he wasn't using the internet? If so, that does not matter in the slightest. If that is not what you meant, I don't understand what you are saying.

No doubt he's a criminal. But I don't think anyone really wanted to behead him until his video caused such a stir.

It does matter! That is possibly the reason he was arrested! For breaking his parole!

Parole said no Internet.

Guy goes along his business for years not raising a flag. Why would anyone suspect he was breaking his parole by using the Internet?

Suddenly he has a world-famous video online. On the Internet! The Internet is against his parole.

Hmm. Red flag.

That, or worse, had to have crossed the mind of at least one of the consumers he gave watered down gas to at his gas station

Have you not wondered how all gas stations and hotels are now owned by immigrants? Answer to most is the US government gives them essentially free grant money to buy them up. And I cant even get a interest free student loan. Go figure.

If a guy rescued a baby from a burning car and ended up in the media everywhere, he'd still be arrested when he's wanted. Had he stayed quiet, he would have simply been one of the endless masses in LA and California who have warrants, walking around the streets every day.

I mean, the guy is a criminal with many convictions under his belt who was wanted. The news source is a celebrity gossip site well known for saying anything for page views. It's not like the dude is a Rabbi who busy's himself curing cancer and who just happened to randomly disappear because of his stance on middle east politics or something.

The man should be forced to pay restitution and his FINANCES should be monitored, but the state should not be allowed to ban someone from using the internet.

Denying someone access to knowledge is cruel and unusual punishment and if you disagree then you are my enemy and the enemy of all free men.

The only post with common sense. Without a lot of protection the Islamists would of found this idiot. Prison is the safest place for him if he's kept apart. He made his bed, shitted in it and now he's covered in it. No sympathy for idiots.

I heard a couple weeks ago that the terms of his parole/probation (I have not investigated which it was) included "no aliases" which is what he did with this movie.

We have a saying here.

If you are not in jail yet, it's not your merit. It's an oversight of the law enforcement system.

Seems it also applies well to land of the free nowadays.

Seems it also applies well to land of the free nowadays.

So, you think being arrested for a probation violation is tromping on someone's rights?

No, I didn't tell what I think about it. I just told that our governments use the same methods to fight the dissent. E.g. the case with Pussy Riot action. Formally they got their prison time for a malicious hooliganism in church, but in fact everyone knows what was the real reason.

Can you show me any person who never broke any law?
