Italy by far has the most natural beauty I have ever seen, and if you visit peoples homes they will prepare a delicious 3 course meal for you.

But coming from a place like NYC, Italy seemed backwards. It was hard to find stores that were open late and had fully stocked grocery shelves. I also noticed that people work conveniently at their own schedules. They had small hot water tanks so got used to cold showers, and no one spoke English and I felt bored pretty quick.

Japan had more of the lifestyle I am used to, since I like having stores open 24 hours.

that's hardly an 'italian' experience, it's a 'backwards village in italy' experience. Any backwards village in any country has the cons you are listing here.

Well, I mean Nottingham itself specifically. I went by the train near this station on my way back to London.

Ah, and eat your shit yourself.

No, it didn't. Yet. But blaming just camorra is unfortunatelly way too simple. Our problems go deeper than camorra and mafia... just to name one, i believe Italy is one of the countries with the highest number of laws... another one? Taxes. Another one? OLD, OLD, OLD politicians... another one? No, it's late at night and i need to work... hope, in the end, your holiday wasn't that bad ;)

Supz 08-21-2012 07:35 PM

Best place to exchange money in Italy is in the post office. They do not charge a %. Just daily exchange rate + a 5 euro fee or so. Atleast thats what I did last year.

The list of reasons Russian politics like Italy - overregulated, crazy taxed ... thats what they do in Russia and many ex USSR countries.

In my opinion I would prefer Italy to be as it was 20 years back when I visited Alba Adriatica and Pescara.

I dunno even what Terroni is... cliches usually work, mate, of course it doesnt apply for a particular person, but it usually applies for the nation character.

Nation character? Come on... you can't be serious. We have differenct characters every 20kms here (not joking)...and you think you can define a whole country character with a cliche?

btw "terroni" is a nasty way to define people from the southern part of Italy.

Dude, look at your writing style, you're on the edge, nearly mad - typical Italian reaction.
So, yes, cliches do pretty well.
