Would anyone here pay to have their headlights restored.

Not offering juz curious. The price of headlight lenses on a lot of cars is pretty expensive to replace. So having them restored or even doing it yourself is way more economical. For those of you not mechanically inclined, would you pay to have them restored if the need was there?

The bad thing is they go back to looking like shit pretty quickly.
There's a detail guy around here that offers the service.
It's not something I would go out of my way to have done though.

What are you doing to necessitate restoring your headlights?

there's a $15 bottle of cleaner at the auto parts store that works wonders. I'm also told that toothpaste works good.

I wouldn't pay for it. I'm (kind of) a car guy, I do tune ups and oil changes and small repairs so I'd just clean my headlights myself.

You can do it yourself with a foam applicator pad, some elbow grease and a swirl mark or fine cut rubbing compound.

Should have gotten clear UV film to protect them from the sun.

I guess I would since I have a few friends working at auto-shops, when the time will ask for it.
