    Another shooting - Sikh Temple - Milwaukee county

    Authorities responded to an incident at a Sikh temple in Milwaukee County on Sunday, where at least one body was seen lying in the parking lot. CNN affiliate WTMJ is reporting that multiple people may have been shot outside the temple.

    WTMJ reports that the gunman may be on the loose. Aerial pictures show multiple bodies in the parking lot.

    The shooting happened at about 10:40 a.m. local time, according to WTMJ.

    Sikhism rose up 500 years ago in India as a monotheistic religion that rejected the caste system and scriptures of Hinduism.

          They're called khirpans - and they're not usually big.

          I remember back in the 90s in Toronto when they fought to have khirpans allowed in public schools - claiming it was their right under religious ceremony laws.

          It only took a month or so after they were permitted that someone got stabbed in a school.

              Guns don't kill people.... wait.

              Outlaw guns, and only criminals will have access to guns. Huh? In countries where guns are illegal it's hard for anyone to get guns, even criminals. Make it hard, almost impossible to get guns, and you can be sure these things won't happen, at least not as often. But people will continue to protect their right to bear arms, no matter how many shootings.

                                      There's no easy answers or solutions. The arguments, debates, finger-pointing and blame will go on and on...while more innocent lives are snuffed out by psychopaths on a daily basis.

                                      And anyone who comes along with a viable solution likely won't be in a position of power or authority to implement it. Politicians hate the thought of alienating a voting demographic on either side of the issue - so they'll continue sitting on the fence while trying to appease everyone on both sides.

                                                  It's only natural for responsible people to try and find a solution to the gun problem. Unfortunately, most people feel threatened when the issue is brought up, and they bring up all kinds of ridiculous points to defend their right to carry fire arms.


                                                  The 2nd amendment was written in 1791. The only firearms of the day were black powder muskets and one shot pistols. The framers and country folk of the Constitution had no concept of AR-15s, AK 47s, uzies and the like.

                                                  Assault rifles were intended to be military anti-personnel weapons. How is it possible for these weapons to be owned by the civilian population for non-military use?

                                                          You are oversimplifying the problem and laying blame in the wrong places.

                                                          This crime is not about guns, but hate. As most crimes of this nature are. And hate like this will make you use ANYTHING you can to do what you want to do: Destroy those with different beliefs.

                                                          If no guns, they would have made homemade bombs, in my opinion.

                                                          Mental instability, hate, extreme religious beliefs - all of this is to blame. But as a society, it is easier to blame an object than a social issue and how we deal with these issues as a nation.

                                                          We can't look too deep, right? We can't call things what they really are. We have to hide behind the greath myth of the USA.

                                                                          I am saying, however, in cases like this - one will find a way no matter what. I don't think in cases like this that gun control would make a difference.

                                                                          Perhaps I was not clear enough in my post - my point being that all of the focus seems to go to gun control, when that is not the issue. The issue is our society.

                                                                          In regards to your other post about what do I mean by myth? I mean that we are a country that is too prideful at this point to realize where our society is going. All is not ok, in my opinion.

                                                                          We call people 'the face of evil' when in fact they are the face of mental illness. We do nothing to stop the intolerance of other religions. We allow the hate to spread, and sweep it under the rug.

                                                                          We have serious social issues here,and it is getting worse all the time. The 'myth' is that we are all ok - because if we don't address it, it doesn't exist.

                                                                          That being said, do be aware I am not anti-USA. I love this country, and am very political in my private (not business) life. I want to see us succeed, and fix the problems.

I believe there have now been 8 mass shootings this year. That is over one mass shooting per month. You can't discuss the sociological problem without touching on the subject of how easy it is to get guns and how much everyone LOVES their guns so much.
