I don't watch enough TV to care either way.
The 62" Sony in the basement is mainly devoted to the XBox360.
The 42" Samsung HD flatscreen in the bedroom is the wife's conduit to Dr. Phil and Rachel Ray.
I watch the 28" oldie in the living room for 10 mins. in the morning to oggle the weather girl and figure out if I need an umbrella or sunscreen.Comment

I'm not an early adopter of tv tech, so this is not too exciting for me. Our 42" tv is hooked up to an HTPC that we watch Netflix and the news on. No cable here.

that's completely pointless technology in my opinion. Oh it'd better the HD.. who cares.. not practical at all. When/IF it comes out it will be a waste of money. There is such a thing as "too much of a good thing" in this case. I admit I watch a lot of tv or play my PS3, I have a 60inch HD plasma in my basement and a 46inch LED in my living room (which never gets used). I've had my 60inch for 1.5 years now and am thinking of upgrading it to a 70inch, the wall it is on is a big wall, so it would look pretty sweet. My Fiancee thinks 60 is big enough tho and won't let me buy it.
If a TV like this came out I'd defo be interested so long as Sony brought out a new PS that could demonstrate its powers. One thing I'll always upgrade to is a better TV.Comment

regardless of how sharp the image is, 16x or 16,000,000x times. 3D, 4D or even smell-o-vision, it's completely useless unless you have video that supports that... meaning, movie makers, TV shows, etc., all need to upgrade their already insanely expensive equipment to handle this.
when I lived in LA, they had HD news casts out pretty quick. Here is normalville, we just got our news casts in HD. Think they are going to cough up another few million for 17280p? doubtful. Thats why you don't see a lot of 3D content either.Email: Clicky on MeComment
