I think they only have one of the ad spots and are selling the traffic on it through Adbucks. Pretty sure it's still the same owner as when it started. I could be wrong though. Haven't talked to him In a couple of months

You have a small mind. For your information I have found that an 8 minute video is just big enough to make a surfer keep coming back and just small enough to make them buy a membership. From my own stats I see a 1:800 to 1:1800 fluctuation on conversions. Oddly enough this is about the same as my old MPG's used to do.

I worked on a campaign for a tube that shows the banner and links to the site in the video and have seen similar stats.

My only question would be overhead. Is he able to find super cheap bandwidth or are the sponsors helping by hosting on their own networks? Going to do some digging on that one.

Exactly. This was my second question. It would be a minor miracle to serve up that much free content and still squeeze out a profit.

I think the profit grossly outweighs the downsides...

The kicker... 2002 is gone. 2004 is gone. 2006? Gone! 2008? Gone too... Those days are over. This guy found a way to not only stay profitable, but make a pretty decent living most people remember from 2004. Why bust his balls?
