Dog Help: My dog ate poo what to do

Our dog did that as a puppy. We have a fresh mint plant that he helps himself to whenever he wants a fresh mouth. It won't hurt them. Try to find some fresh mint, he may love the taste like ours.

(Our dog is gay though and is particular about grooming, which may be why he likes natural mouthwash so much. I do not know if you will get the same mileage with a straight dog)

BTW, they say that dogs eating their own poop or others is a sign of a vitamin deficiency or something.

keep her on leash in the yard at home and if she goes anywhere near the poop correct her. she will get out of the habit. sounds mean but its the only way they will learn to leave it.

not a big fan of e-collars but people will use those too. Need to use it with a command though, zapping them without command does nothing.

Dogs eat shit because they usually have some sort of deficiency. I'd have her checked out at the Vet's.

One time eating a poop is not going to be the cause of lasting bad breath issues. More likely, it is due to the food you are feeding it.

If you are feeding it dry food, then you should know that most kibble style dried pet food will cause breath problems and tooth decay.

This isn't true at all. It usually depends on the breed. If your dog tends to have more of a field dog mentality they develop field dog traits simple as that. Easily trainable to get them to stop if you put the effort in.

it can be poor nutrition or they just like doing it my bigger dog does it. its usually hers, the few times she had ate other dogs poo she got sick. So you got to be on the look out and keep the dog on a leash if it likes yard brownies.
