Wow mainstream finally breaking down the porn barrier?

Saw PRGlenn post this in another thread and nobody commented - to me this is a huge deal, a major mainstream entertainment company looks to have spent major dollars advertising on a porn site - YouPorn.com - Cineplex advertising a new comedy, i wonder if the movie studio who produced/distributes it know about the ad buy.

Old news. I saw that going on before the Vegas conference. Considering I rarely visit those sites, I am sure it was going on long before I discovered it. That being said, I mentioned it to a number of people at the conference, and they simply said because the movie was an 'R' rating, most likely advertising to that crowd.

I, like you, was still amazed that Manwin broke through the glass ceiling. Others dismissed it.

Honestly, I find it more alarming that mainstream has taken so long to start making these types of ad buys.

After all, these people who watch porn, buy their phones / cars / drinks / food / videos blah blah blah... Then the fact the traffic would be far cheaper than a mainstream equivalent...

well one reason could be, the two mainstream movies that bought ads on tubes were dogs.

Throw enough shit or tube traffic at a wall and some is bound to stick. Another OCCUPY generation marketing plan success story.

i've never understood mainstream's reticence to advertise on adult sites - i surely understand companies whose brand is wholesome and family oriented not doing it but so many products like video games, alcohol, movies, music, fitness, fast food, clothing is aimed at the same demographic who visits adult sites.

It has changed now. I am reading mainstream online marketing forums on daily basic, and many people start to realise it, and buy traffic from tubes.

not breaking balls but reticence isn't the correct word.

In a way I can. If I am watching porn it is because I am horny, usually hard and have my dick in my hand. I pretty much focus on what I am looking at until I blow my load and at that point I rarely care about what is on the screen.

So I wonder what the quality of the traffic would be for someone who is not offering some kind of orgasm related product.

yes it is - reticent means 'reluctant' and 'unwillinging'

'mainstream's reluctance/unwillingness to advertise on porn sites' is the same as what i wrote, reticence came to mind before 'reluctance'

One of my biggest advertisers about 8-10 years ago was a mainstream company. They happily bought ads on porn sites. Like the owner used to say "even porn surfers have to buy toothpaste..."

The same guys that surf porn go to movies, buy cards and have regular lives.

Tubes are one of the easiest ways to reach the masses. It's surprising they aren't crossing over in droves.

I realized it years ago, problem was that affiliate programs did not allow me to promote their stuff on adult sites.. So unless you own your product your realization does not help you much.
